Today, we honor the Feast Day of our beloved patroness, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Her spirit lives powerfully in the daily life at Elizabeth Seton Children's - shaping the way we care, the way we welcome and the way we love. As the year in which we celebrated both the Jubiliee Year of Hope and the 50th anniversary of Mother Seton's canonization draws to a close, we have so much to be grateful for. We give thanks to the mission of the Sisters of Charity, New York, whose steadfast commitment to serve the most vulnerable in society continues to inspire our work and transform lives. And we are filled with appreciation for all of you who support and believe in this holy vocation. May the example of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton renew our hearts, strengthen our mission and inspire us, together, to fervently carry her legacy forward in the years ahead.

As part of our , we’re reminiscing on an extraordinary summer memory - when our cherished prom tradition unfolded for the 17th consecutive year with “Dunkin’ Prom Presents A Tale as Old as Time.” Thanks to an unprecedented $40,000 grant from the Dunkin' Joy In Childhood Foundation, Elizabeth Seton Children's Center’s annual prom was an afternoon of pure enchantment! From storybook-inspired costumes to tender moments on the dance floor, this year’s celebration proved that when love, community and imagination come together, magic happens! We’re highlighting our extraordinary nurses in our next moment: the presentation of our Mission Award for Nursing Excellence, named in honor of Sr. Miriam Kevin Phillips, SC. This award recognizes nurses who carry forward our mission with humility, sincerity and love. Congratulations to this year’s recipients, Sade Aulet, an assistant nurse manager at Elizabeth Seton Children's Center and Dawn Gizzo, a clinical services manager at Elizabeth Seton Children’s Rehabilitation Center! “Blue Santa” himself paid a visit to our children and young adults last week! Thanks to the Yonkers Police Department, the Yonkers PBA, the Yonkers Firefighters Local 628 and the Hastings on Hudson Police Department, Santa and his friends lit up Elizabeth Seton Children's Center and spent precious time with our residents. We’re grateful to Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, Nader Sayegh, New York State Assemblyman, Yonkers and the Gualdino family for celebrating with us!
