Making sure our athletes feel their best so they can perform their best! 🏇 Smurf enjoyed his Equipod sessions, with additional KTape applied in his problem areas to aide in his performance. With three days of competing with two riders at CSHA State Championship Show this boy got faster each day, and came home with a Top 3 buckle!

KRK Equine Wellness is thrilled to announce that the next steps are being taken to provide increased services, and improved care for your equine partners! 🥳 While I am currently in three different courses to continue my education, with one more on the way at the end of the year, I am excited to be able to offer increased skill set with my services.
What does this mean?
This means I am furthering my skills with equine massage, to include more techniques and provide more effective transformations. Other services will begin to be provided, such as K Taping with effective placement for best results! The newest and biggest addition will be announced at the end of the year following certification - make sure to keep an eye out for that announcement! 👀 That will be a big one that I am very excited to be adding.
While massages will continue for current clients and a limited number of new clients, my current focus is bettering my education to provide top notch services! This new knowledge and techniques will be added in to my massages now, with great reactions already seen by current clients. If you’re interested in learning more about what we can do for your horse, or wanting to book a session, reach out now and I’ll be glad to answer any questions. 🥰

We want to congratulate our KRK Equine Wellness athletes on their hard work this past weekend! Kayla & Smurf ran their first ever barrel race together, as well as Audree & Mr. Shorty running their second ever barrel race and their first 3 day race. Both of these teams ran faster each day! Audree and Mr. Shorty brought home their first ever check with a 4D win in novice. Way to go both of you!

Check out our KRK Equine Wellness athlete Mr. Shorty with his owner Audree! Shorty was showing mysterious on and off lameness, and after a work up by the vet that determined back soreness his owner and I decided to begin bodywork. With a consistent every 2 week schedule for full body massage, and KT taping to help target some of the issues, these two have been hitting personal records in their gymkhana season and are working their way up! 💙

Keeping this sweet girl feeling her best! 🥰 Bumble and her owner Kayla have been diligent about their stretching, making sure to maintain and increase Bumble’s range of motion. Back to competing this past weekend this team killed it, with Bumble more relaxed and feeling better than ever! Way to go guys! 🔥

How are you taking advantage of these rainy days? 🌧️ I’m loving the chance to love on my horses more, and be able to spend one on one time with them in a non riding setting. Usually our schedules get too busy for this, and I’m feeling lucky to have the time with them. ❤️

Letting that relaxation take over 🥰💤 Check out Max’s heavy eyes, lowering head, and relaxed back leg to let us know she’s loving this! In our first session she was often reactive on this side and wiggling around. In just her second session she’s realized just how GOOD massage makes her feel, and enjoyed every second of it! Keep in mind when your horse gets a massage, for the first few sessions they may show reactivity. We’re working on muscles that have tightness and tension, and it can give them that “hurts so good” feeling! Working through the sensitive areas allow for healthy muscles and a healthy horse. Very soon your horse will relax into their session, and realize we’re there to help them feel their absolute best! ❤️

Let’s talk about another way to help your horse feel their best - STRETCHING! 🙆‍♀️ Check out Jaxen absolutely loving his stretch post massage, and even getting a big release from the stretch!
Why stretching?
YOU are a big part in your horse’s wellness! Stretching your horse can help them maintain, and even increase, the new range of motion following a massage. This in turn helps your horse feel better for longer. With performing and maintaining a consistent stretching schedule with your horse you can actually prolong then time needed between massage sessions!
When is it best to stretch?
Following a ride or massage session is the best time to stretch! Why not before a ride? Think of silly putty - if you try to play with it and stretch it apart before warming it up it will break! Now think of your horse’s muscles like this. A warm and pliable muscle will have more flexibility and range than a cold one, and also have less chances of adding increased strain on your horse.
Have any questions about what stretches would be best for your horse, how to perform them, or when? Check with your bodyworker to receive the best advice on your horse! KRK Equine Wellness is able to offer full body stretching sessions in addition to our massage services. Often times at the end of your session, targeted stretches and exercises are given for your horse!
