🚨 FINAL GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

We’ve introduced leaders.
We’ve introduced experience.
Now we’re introducing the next chapter.

🔥 Introducing Katlyn (Taylor) Taueetia, Funeral Director & Owner.

As of April 1, 2025, Katlyn became the proud owner of Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, a family-owned funeral home in Cecil, Pennsylvania, serving families in Washington and Allegheny Counties since 1936.

That’s 89 years of legacy.

And now — a new generation stepping forward to carry it.

Katlyn’s journey with the funeral home began in 2007, long before ownership was ever on the horizon. She built her foundation through service, dedication, and relentless commitment to the families she serves.

Her background is anything but ordinary:

⚫ Licensed Cosmetologist with 20 years of experience
⚫ Degree in Business Administration – Penn State
⚫ Graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science
⚫ Pennsylvania Licensed Funeral Director (2022)
⚫ Vice President – Southwestern Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association

Her cosmetology career — making people look and feel their best — transitioned seamlessly into funeral service. That same meticulous attention to detail, that same pursuit of perfection, that same compassion now defines her work as a funeral director and embalmer.

Every family deserves care, dignity, and respect.

Katlyn brings all three — every single time.

🎙️ On March 12th, Katlyn joins our panel for As The Hearse Turns as we discuss the future of funeral service, leadership transitions, and what it really means to preserve legacy while bringing fresh perspective.

This panel now represents:

✔️ Experience
✔️ Leadership
✔️ Community
✔️ And the next generation of funeral service

If you’ve been following these announcements all week…

You already know.

This conversation is going to matter.

Follow As The Hearse Turns and join us March 12.

🚨 GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT #2 🚨

The panel for our March 12th episode of As The Hearse Turns is shaping up to be something special.

Today we’re introducing someone who is not only serving families — he’s actively helping shape the future of funeral service.

🔥 Introducing Timothy “Tim” McLoone, Funeral Director.

Born and raised in Glenside, Pennsylvania, Tim became co-owner of William R. May Funeral Home in 2002, continuing the tradition of a locally owned, family operated funeral home. Today he co-owns and operates locations in Glenside and North Wales, serving families with compassion and dedication.

But Tim’s work extends far beyond the funeral home.

He’s deeply involved in his community, serving as:

⚫ Co-Vice President – Glenside St. Patrick’s Day Committee
⚫ Board Member – C.A.P.T. (Citizens and Police Together) supporting community initiatives with the Abington Township Police Department
⚫ Active member of the Keswick Village Business Association
⚫ Organizer of the first ever “Glenside en Blanc”, bringing the community together for an evening of fellowship
⚫ Active with Main Street North Wales and the North Wales Community Day Committee

Professionally, Tim is passionate about strengthening the future of funeral service.

He currently serves as:

⚫ District 7 Governor – Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association
⚫ Advisory Board Member – Northampton Community College Funeral Service Education Program (his alma mater)
⚫ Advisory Board Member – Kates-Boyleston Publications
⚫ Contributor to American Funeral Director Magazine

🎙️ On March 12th, Tim will join our panel as we have an open, honest conversation about the profession, the challenges we face, and where funeral service is headed next.

And we’re not done yet…

👀 One more guest to get to know tomorrow.

🚨 Important Live Stream Update for As The Hearse Turns 🚨

We want to give everyone a quick heads up about our upcoming live shows.

Because As The Hearse Turns is a brand new page, Facebook has a policy that prevents any new page from streaming live directly from the page for the first 60 days.

Just to be clear — this has absolutely nothing to do with our content or anything we’ve done. It’s simply a standard Facebook rule that applies to all new pages.

So for our next three shows, here’s how you’ll be able to watch:

🎥 We will post the YouTube Live link directly on this page when we go live. All you have to do is click the link and you’ll be instantly in the live stream.

You’ll also be able to watch the show live on Katharine and Chris’s personal pages at the same time.

So while Facebook makes us wait a little bit before streaming directly here, nothing is slowing this show down.

And trust us…

🔥 The upcoming episodes — especially March 12 — are going to be powerful.

🚨 GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT #1 🚨

We told you the March 12th episode of As The Hearse Turns was going to bring together some of the most progressive voices in funeral service…

So let’s start with someone who has been living and breathing this profession for over two decades.

🔥 Introducing Michelle Muccio-Krise, Funeral Director.

Michelle’s journey into funeral service started at just 18 years old, and for the past 25 years she has built a career centered on service, leadership, and community.

After graduating from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 2003, Michelle became licensed in Maryland, working at a large firm before returning home to St. Marys, Pennsylvania in 2005.

Today she is the owner of Lynch-Green Funeral Home in St. Marys and co-owner of Krise Funeral Homes in Ridgway and Kersey alongside her husband Roy — operating as a husband and wife team dedicated to providing meaningful, personalized care to every family they serve.

But Michelle’s impact doesn’t stop at the funeral home doors.

She also serves as:

⚫ District 10 Governor – Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association
⚫ Elk County Coroner for the past 14 years
⚫ Licensed Pennsylvania Insurance Agent helping families pre-fund funerals
⚫ School Board Member for the Elk County Catholic School System

She and Roy are proud parents of four children, active members of Queen of the World Church, and when she finally gets a break from serving families, you’ll find Michelle enjoying boating, side-by-side riding, camping, or snowmobiling with her family.

🎙️ March 12th is shaping up to be a powerhouse conversation about the future of funeral service — and Michelle is bringing 25 years of real-world experience to the table.

And this is just the first introduction.

👀 More panelists will be announced throughout the week.

Trust me… you’re going to want to hear what this group has to say.

Earlier today, Chris asked for your thoughts on funeral service, tradition, and how things may shift over time. After reading many of your comments, I wanted to share my perspective 🩷

Many funeral directors are naturally opposed to change. That is human nature. But the reality is, times ARE changing, and as an industry, we must be willing to adapt and evolve alongside the families we serve.

That said, I do not believe funeral traditions are going anywhere. I still strongly believe in the value of a viewing and the meaningful opportunity it gives families to say goodbye, and many families still want that. What is shifting is how services may look. For example, we are seeing more families choose a viewing followed by cremation rather than always proceeding to the cemetery with a casket.

The need to gather, honor, and say goodbye is not disappearing. The format is simply evolving.

Over the last two years, it has been especially interesting to watch the growth of public education in funeral service. When Chris and I first began educating online, many people looked at us sideways. Now many of those same professionals are stepping into the space themselves.

Why? Because they are seeing what we have been seeing. The industry is changing, families are asking more questions, and transparency matters more than ever.

Funeral service is not dying. It is pivoting. And funeral tradition will absolutely remain alive as long as funeral directors continue to educate families about their options and show them what is possible. Those who adapt thoughtfully will be the ones who continue to serve families best in the years ahead 💛

🚨 Unpopular Opinion From Funeral Directors… 🚨

Within the next 20 years…

The traditional funeral as we know it may not exist anymore.

Fewer visitations.
More cremation.
More direct services.
More families choosing celebration of life events weeks or months later.

Some people in this profession refuse to talk about it.

But on As The Hearse Turns, we believe the funeral profession needs to have honest conversations about where things are heading.

Not fear.

Not denial.

Real discussion about the future of funeral service.

On March 12th, we’re bringing together five funeral directors from across Pennsylvania who are willing to talk openly about the changes happening in our profession.

The good.
The bad.
And the uncomfortable.

Because the profession we love is evolving whether we like it or not.

⚰️ Follow As The Hearse Turns if you want real conversations about the future of funeral service.

👇 Now we want to hear from you…

Do you think traditional funerals will still exist 20 years from now?

YES or NO.

There’s a reason we started As The Hearse Turns… and this morning it's time we talk about it.

For far too long, funeral service has been something people whisper about instead of talk about. Families have questions. Communities have curiosity. And the professionals inside the profession often feel like they’re navigating it alone.

That’s exactly why Katharine Wagner-Katharine K. Wagner-Elfner, Mortician and Chris Christopher Boggs - Mortician decided to start this journey together.

As The Hearse Turns is about pulling back the curtain on funeral service.
Real conversations.
Real questions.
Real answers.

We’re not here for the polished corporate version of the profession.
We’re here for the honest, transparent, sometimes uncomfortable conversations about life, death care, and everything in between.

Some nights it’ll be just us.
Some nights we’ll bring in incredible guests from across the profession.
And some nights… we’re answering the questions everyone else is afraid to ask.

If you’re curious about funeral service…
If you work in funeral service…
Or if you’ve ever just wondered what really happens behind the doors of a funeral home…

You’re in the right place.
