Flourish welcomed 34 babies for 2025
Of those babies we had 21 girls, 13 boys.

28 were born at home, 6 had other plans.
Of those transfers we had 3 for PROM, 1 for Therapeutic Rest, 1 for 42+ weeks and 1 for necessary planned C/S.

There were 3 babies who chose the sunroof route and 3 vaginal hospital births.

That makes our transfer rate 17.6% and our c/s rate 9%.

Flourish’s heart is full of repeat families but we had 5 first time moms, 1 of them giving birth at home. Premature Rupture Of Membranes kicked our ass this year (why?!) This gives us a 17% first time mom home birth rate, this year but They’re all going to get it next time though!

We had one planned and successful HBAC this year. Still holding strong with 0 perineal tears requiring repair, and 0 newborn transfers this year! We had 1 emergent maternal transfer for retained placenta and hemorrhage (this was the HBAC)

Our smallest sprout was 6lb8oz and our biggest was 10lb12oz. Our earliest babe came at 38 weeks and 4 days and our latest babe came at 42 weeks and 1 day.

We held the hearts of so many mothers of loss this year, in particular in the past month or so. We are always keeping those families in our thoughts and sending love.

We also offered a lot of Well Women exams, survived a year of new driving teenagers, 5 babies in a week, some solid off call time and navigating long nights and space holding in the midst of perimenopause. YAY for 40! 😵‍💫😵‍💫

Flourish will celebrate its 10th year anniversary in 2026 and also “catch” baby number 300. Since 2016 we’ve supported over 400 growing families! 🖤. We have 23 families on deck through August, 9 of those repeat families for now. We are forever grateful. Onto 2026! ✨

herein lies the last “probably not this weekend” weekend. We’ve had a slow and syrupy 9 weeks. (With one baby sneaking in just to keep us from getting too far into the clouds). This time is intentional, focusing on our own families - being “with teenagers” is not for the faint of heart- resetting all the things; from the logistical, to the spiritual and taking some time to “sit on our hands” and hold space for ourselves. It helps to refill a cup that has the occasional habit of pouring out superfluously. 🖤

we are back at it, for the foreseeable future … at least until April when the tulips poke their little green arms out to the sunshine. For that, I have a grateful heart. 🖤🌱
