MaryBeth Murphy RN Holistic Wellness Coach LLC I am a hospice nurse offering holistic wellness coaching and energy work including acupressure. I am a registered nurse entrepreneur.

After many years of working at the bedside as a nurse I gained knowledge and insight regarding illness and wellness among all age groups. In 2016 I became Reiki attuned and started practicing this life force modality for self healing. Many shifts have occurred since then and one has been to bring the amazing benefits of energy and frequency to other peoples lives. I am a holistic wellness coach and integrate the frequency medicine of Reiki and Healy to my sessions. If you are reading this far and it speaks to you please reach out and let's get to healing!

THAT TOO MUCH WOMAN…

“There she is. . . the “too much” woman. The one who loves too hard, feels too deeply, asks too often, desires too much.

There she is taking up too much space, with her laughter, her curves, her honesty, her sexuality. Her presence is as tall as a tree, as wide as a mountain. Her energy occupies every crevice of the room. Too much space she takes.

There she is causing a ruckus with her persistent wanting, too much wanting. She desires a lot, wants everything—too much happiness, too much alone time, too much pleasure. She’ll go through brimstone, murky river, and hellfire to get it. She’ll risk all to quell the longings of her heart and body. This makes her dangerous.

She is dangerous.

And there she goes, that “too much” woman, making people think too much, feel too much, swoon too much. She with her authentic prose and a self-assuredness in the way she carries herself. She with her belly laughs and her insatiable appetite and her proneness to fiery passion. All eyes on her, thinking she’s hot s**t.

Oh, that “too much” woman. . . too loud, too vibrant, too honest, too emotional, too smart, too intense, too pretty, too difficult, too sensitive, too wild, too intimidating, too successful, too fat, too strong, too political, too joyous, too needy—too much.

She should simmer down a bit, be taken down a couple notches. Someone should put her back in a more respectable place. Someone should tell her.

Here I am. . . a Too Much Woman, with my too-tender heart and my too-much emotions.

A hedonist, feminist, pleasure seeker, empath. I want a lot—justice, sincerity, spaciousness, ease, intimacy, actualization, respect, to be seen, to be understood, your undivided attention, and all of your promises to be kept.

I’ve been called high maintenance because I want what I want, and intimidating because of the space I occupy. I’ve been called selfish because I am self-loving. I’ve been called a witch because I know how to heal myself.

And still. . . I rise. Still, I want and feel and ask and risk and take up space.

I must.

Us Too Much Women have been facing extermination for centuries—we are so afraid of her, terrified of her big presence, of the way she commands respect and wields the truth of her feelings. We’ve been trying to stifle the Too Much Woman for ions—in our sisters, in our wives, in our daughters. And even now, even today, we shame the Too Much Woman for her bigness, for her wanting, for her passionate nature.

And still. . . she thrives.

In my own world and before my very eyes, I am witnessing the reclamation and rising up of the Too Much Woman. That Too Much Woman is also known to some as Wild Woman or the Divine Feminine. In any case, she is me, she is you, and she is loving that she’s finally, finally getting some airtime.

If you’ve ever been called “too much,” or “overly emotional,” or “bitchy,” or “stuck up,” you are likely a Too Much Woman.
And if you are. . . I implore you to embrace all that you are—all of your depth, all of your vastness; to not hold yourself in, and to never abandon yourself, your bigness, your radiance.

Forget everything you’ve heard—your too much-ness is a gift; oh yes, one that can heal, incite, liberate, and cut straight to the heart of things.

Do not be afraid of this gift, and let no one shy you away from it. Your too much-ness is magic, is medicine. It can change the world.

So please, Too Much Woman: Ask. Seek. Desire. Expand. Move. Feel. Be.

Make your waves, fan your flames, give us chills.

Please, rise.
We need you.” Ev’Yan Witney

I’ve been sugar and white flour free since May 2022. It was an experiment really. I wanted to see if I could do it. I’m an Aries and I love a challenge.

What did I discover?

*It was harder to ditch than alcohol.
*It’s even more socially acceptable than alcohol.
*It’s infused in EVERYTHING
*It’s our first addiction.

As I’ve been on my healing journey I’ve been waking up to the habits I created that I had no idea were harming my body, mind, and spirit.
Sugar is inflammatory, it feeds cancer cells, it feeds the cycle of addiction, and it’s putting us at risk to so many health issues including mental health, cancer, obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.

I recently had a vacation and relapsed with coconut sugar and the gremlin of addiction fired up in me. I reverted back to my old ways of fixating on sweets and when my next “hit” would be. Once home I went right back to my routine of sugar free and have found my center once more. It truly is better on this side for me. I’m no “moderation” kind of gal.

I’m holding no remorse or shame about this relapse. It was a learning opportunity.
I greatly appreciate my choice of being sugar/flour free. It was an easy decision to get back on the horse.

This video explains the energetic effects.
Take a listen and I’m here if you want to reach out and find out how I kicked the habit.

This International Women’s Day, join the SHE RECOVERS® Foundation and the change-makers of today to explore how we can ensure the next and future generations rise rooted in recovery.

The National Institute of Mental Health reports that early intervention for mental health issues in young women can lead to improved outcomes, including reduced symptoms, improved functioning, and better quality of life.

We need to start supporting the next generation now.

Rising Rooted: Redefining Recovery With the Next Generation presented by SHE RECOVERS Foundation is a free International Women’s Day event centered around redefining mental health, trauma, and substance use recovery by bringing awareness to intersecting issues specific to the next generation.

Join us for some critical dialogue, inspirational stories, and thought-provoking discourse around what it means to support the next generation of women to rise rooted in recovery. This event is free for everyone to attend.

Rise with us on March 8, 2024 >>>

SHE RECOVERS® Foundation invites you to write a new story in honor of Women’s Day. Amplifying Women’s Stories in Recovery Advocacy.

Repost—

Hey, friends who drink...this is for you.

Here’s a peek at what people in your life who are trying to get (or stay) sober are dealing with this holiday season:

Alcohol celebrated as a way to connect with loved ones.

Alcohol offered as a cure for loneliness.

Alcohol delivered as a “gift”.

Alcohol at the office holiday party. Yes, even if it’s on Zoom.

Alcohol suggested as a way to relax.

Alcohol as an ingredient in that special holiday dish grandma only makes once a year.

Alcohol as a part of family traditions.

Alcohol at church.

Alcohol lifted up as “self care”.

Alcohol suggested as a way to deal with grief.

Alcohol as means to toast and celebrate.

Alcohol offered as a way to numb pain.

Alcohol used to drown out money issues.

Alcohol because there’s always at least one person at the party who’ll say “Can’t you just have ONE?”

Alcohol on silent nights.

Alcohol on stressful nights.

Alcohol on joyous nights.

For those of us trying to get or stay sober, getting through the holidays can feel like running a marathon.

Be kind to your sober friends. Find alternative ways to celebrate. Reach out to someone you know is struggling.

This time of year is incredibly hard for a lot of people.

Never underestimate the power of breath work and what it can mean to our teens! This was a PM from one of my former students at circa 2021. I made mediation and breath work part of the curriculum. Why? Because it’s EVERYTHING. I made a point to have the students drop in and check with how they were feeling.
Needless to say she made my day 🤗 and let me share it with you all. Breathe in….breath out.

I “lost” my Healy for 3 whole days. I don’t want to say it was a struggle but it kinda was. I’ve developed a relationship with it like I never thought was possible. It’s energetic support has weaved itself into my lifestyle. The mind body spirit connection is priceless. Reunited and it feels so darn good!!! Thank you to great nephew Nicholas for finding it 🌟⭐️🌈🙏😍🙌💜😊.
