At Connections, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy by supporting families early, strengthening caregivers, and working toward a more equitable future for all children.

Today, we reflect on the importance of inclusion, service, and ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive...right from the start.

At Connections, we believe progress doesn’t just happen during therapy sessions, it happens during meals, playtime, bath time, and everyday routines. By coaching caregivers early, we help families build confidence and skills that support their child all day, every day.

If you have questions or concerns about your child’s development, starting early can make a powerful difference! You don’t need a diagnosis...just a conversation.

Does winter break have you asking "what else can I do with these kids" yet?

Want to be the coolest mom/dad/caregiver/grandparent ever?

▶️ Then follow this simple recipe to whip up some sensory snow in less than 5 minutes using only TWO ingredients (that you probably already have!)

Hair Conditioner ➕ Baking Soda = Fluffy, moldable and cool-to-the-touch "snow" that is perfect for sensory play!

The opportunities here are endless!
❄️ Grab twigs, beads and buttons and use them to build a snowman
❄️ Have your child's favorite animal figurines, cars, or dolls play in the snow
❄️ Make snowballs with the snow (a great activity to encourage bilateral coordination)
❄️ Practice writing letters in the snow

I know what you're thinking..... "I BET THAT'S MESSY!?"

Of course it is! But you've heard us say it before...messy, sensory play is SO GOOD for brain development, building fine motor skills, encouraging critical thinking, and more. (Disclaimer...If you have a child that likes to put things in their mouth, just be sure to supervise during this activity!)

✨ “We elves try to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns, and syrup.” ✨

Pancake day in feeding therapy. All the toppings, no pressure, lots of smiles.

Feeding therapy doesn’t always look hard or heavy...it can actually be fun.

Message us if you’d like to learn more or schedule feeding therapy.

Today, Liz and Rande, along with passionate and knowledgeable parents from across York County, met with the Pennsylvania Department of Education, including Secretary Dr. Rowe and Dr. Clancy, Director of Special Education.

Thank you for the time, open dialogue, and thoughtful problem-solving. We deeply appreciate leadership that listens to families and community voices and values collaboration.

We look forward to continued conversations and future meetings as we work together to strengthen partnerships between schools and communities.

✨ Feeling the holiday hustle? ✨
You’re not alone! This season can get busy and a little overwhelming which is why it’s the perfect time to let your little ones lend a hand. 🧼💛

At Connections, we LOVE giving children real-life responsibilities. When kids help with simple household tasks (like washing dishes!), they’re not just being cute, they’re building important developmental skills:

🫧 Fine motor skills – scrubbing, rinsing, squeezing sponges
🧠 Cognitive development – understanding steps and sequencing
💪 Independence & confidence – “I can do it!” moments
❤️ Connection – working with you strengthens relationship bonds

And here are a few tips to make holiday helpers successful at home:

✨ Offer small, doable tasks (washing plastic dishes, wiping counters)
✨ Give clear, simple steps
✨ Expect a little mess and think of it as learning in action
✨ Celebrate effort, not perfection
✨ Make it fun with warm water, bubbles, or a favorite holiday playlist 🎶

So next time the to-do list grows, invite your little one to join you. You might be surprised at how much joy (and help!) those tiny hands can bring this season. 💛
