🎒✨ Lets Go Back to School, Your Way ✨🎒

As we welcome August, we're gently shifting into back-to-school mode—whatever that may look like for your family.

At Connections, we know that transitions can bring big feelings, so here are a few simple, affirming tips to help make this shift smoother and more supportive:

🧠 Start slow – Begin easing into a routine by adjusting sleep and meal times just a bit each day. Flexibility is still your friend.

📅 Use visuals – Countdown calendars, checklists, or simple daily schedules can help make what’s coming more predictable and less stressful.

💬 Talk it out – Practice scripts or role-play parts of the school day like morning drop-off or saying hi to new friends.

🎧 Sensory prep – Test out backpacks, clothes, or lunch containers now so you can swap out anything that feels “off” before day one.

💛 Validate all feelings – Whether your child is thrilled, nervous, or somewhere in between—it’s all valid. Back-to-school looks different for every brain, and that's okay.
