Together residents helped our younger friends from Steps-Pleasant Acres make headbands for their Thanksgiving luncheon.

Staying connected, socializing, and having the opportunity to form fun and meaningful relationships is one of the secrets to enjoying a long, healthy and happy life. That’s why it’s so important to bring together our generations, the young and the old, the wise and the new.

💀👻🎃!!! Colorful Connections Alert: Spooky Edition!!!🎃👻💀

Today, we hosted "Colorful Connections: Spooky Edition" with Small Steps preschool/Pre-K. Residents and children made pumpkin lights using various craft supplies.

Did you know: Intergenerational relationships have been shown to improve self-esteem and purpose. Engaging with younger participants allows older adults to share their experiences and knowledge, fostering a renewed sense of purpose. Many seniors report higher self-esteem and satisfaction with aging, feeling valued and needed.

🎨!!Color Connections Alert!!🎨

Our residents had a wonderful time earlier this month engaging with our friends from Small Steps Daycare during our Colorful Connections program! We spent time making artwork outside, and you could feel the joy in the air.

Did you know that intergenerational relationships can significantly improve both mental and physical health? It's true! Both our residents and the children benefit immensely, gaining valuable social skills like empathy and patience. Plus, these programs play a key role in reducing ageism by fostering understanding and creating meaningful connections between generations. We're excited about the positive impact these interactions have and look forward to more fun-filled activities in the future!
