This is the first time I’ve ever spoken publicly in a way that could be viewed as “political,” both as a person and as a business owner. I’ve always stayed out of it because I’ve watched how quickly people shame others for thinking differently. It made me want to protect my peace and stay silent.
But over time, I’ve realized something important:
politics isn’t separate from our lives — it shapes our safety, our families, our rights, our food systems, and our communities. It stopped being about politics for me and became about people.
And I’ve been so inspired watching other local businesses bravely use their voices, standing for humanity and for the people they serve. Their courage reminded me that silence is also a choice — and I’m ready to stand too.
At Safe & Sweet, my heart and mission have always been rooted in the same truth:
✨ To nourish my community
✨ To care for ALL people, regardless of background
✨ To create safe food and safe spaces
✨ To lead with integrity, compassion, and intention
My heart is for humanity.
For safety.
For love.
For a community where everyone feels they matter.
So tomorrow, we are not closing.
But we are choosing to stand — gently, boldly, and with love — and say:
We stand with our entire community.
We stand for care.
We stand for nourishment — body, mind, and soul.
We stand for people being safe, seen, valued, and protected.
