We had such a great program with The Center for Wildlife, who brought in 3 of their animal ambassadors!

Maple, the Barred Owl, could hear everyone's heartbeat in the room with her incredible hearing! They brought in an American Kestrel that tricks predators with the colors on the back of its head, which gives the illusion to other animals that it's its beak. No predator will attack because of this! Last but not least, Clifford, the box turtle, has a built-in antenna inside the top of their head that enables them to remember its location given from ancestry. We learned that if you see a turtle going a certain way, it's because they know where they are going and are trying to get to their destination!

Our residents absolutely loved this program and meeting these amazing creatures! They are still talking about how much this brought them joy.
