Meet Bayani, our Turtle Medicine Warrior of February. 🐢🌱
Known as the quiet hero of becoming, Bayani invites us to grow with courage, patience, and heart-led intention. He reminds us that growth doesn’t need to be loud to be powerful, sometimes it begins with simply saying yes to the next right step.
This month’s crystal, green aventurine, mirrors Bayani’s energy, supporting new beginnings, gentle confidence, and rooted expansion. A stone for moving forward softly, guided by inner knowing rather than force.

February is an Earth month- a pause between seasons where energy settles, repairs, and prepares for what’s next.
Transition doesn’t mean stopping. It means restoring capacity before momentum returns.
If your work or leadership feels slower right now, that’s part of the process, not a problem to fix.

A little peek at what February holds. 💛
Earth months are about reflection and integration, not productivity or pushing. One of our anchors this February is Energetic Mapping, a gentle, creative way to step back and see how your energy wants to move through the year ahead.
Alongside that, February includes familiar rhythms like Toss Talk, Settle Inward Saturdays, energetic check-ins, and seasonal nourishment support, all designed to help you feel grounded and clear as winter continues.
If February feels like a month where you want support without pressure, this is one to keep an eye on...
Registration opens soon. Until then, let January soften its grip. ✨

February is an Earth month at the HRart Center. 🌍
That means we slow down, reflect, and take an honest look at how energy is actually moving, in our bodies, our work, and our lives.
We’ve been shaping February with that intention in mind. Less pressure. More awareness. Space to notice patterns before trying to fix anything.
If you’ve been feeling the pull to pause, take stock, or reset how you’re carrying your energy, consider this your early save-the-date. ✨
More details coming soon...
For now, just notice what your body is asking for as January comes to a close. 💚

Nature doesn’t rush, and neither does meaningful growth. When we allow space for rest, reflection, and restoration, we support the kind of progress that lasts.

January can make it feel like you’re supposed to reinvent yourself overnight. New goals. New routines. New version of you.
But growth doesn’t require a rebrand.
It requires honesty, steadiness, and practices that actually support your energy. 🌱
Let this year be shaped by what sustains you, not what pressures you.

It’s not your everyday HR team, but Leadership Arts Associates is redefining what it takes to foster new energy in the workplace
Samm Smeltzer and MaryRose Ritter worked in traditional human resource jobs in York and kept finding the same issue: a gray approach to the job with employees who get upset when the HR rep comes around.
Samm felt stuck, but one day her husband suggested, “Think about what it would be like to do it on your own.” She leapt with the advice and started Leadership Arts Associates in 2014.
She created the business to fill a gap in the city, to break the status quo and show other businesses there’s another way of doing human resources.
“I just kept having this feeling like there was something more,” Samm says. “It’s amazing the skills and talents we have locally, but there’s also this untapped potential.”
Leadership Arts Associates takes a more colorful route to helping businesses. It’s more than the boldly colored North George Street office.
MaryRose is the more traditional of the pair, but there’s nothing cookie-cutter about her work. Each plan is tailored to the individual. She enjoys doing the little things – like attending company functions, even though she’s not required – to achieve success.
“It’s not you and I, it’s we,” MaryRose says. “I want to become an arm of their employees and become part of their group and culture. I’m not just showing up when things are bad.”
Samm takes a holistic and modern approach to her work, specializing in leadership development through workshops and coaching. Sometimes, she says, it’s simply guiding leaders to best attack stress with everything from yoga and reiki – a Japanese healing technique – that they do in-house.
“Even 15 minutes of allowing someone to just chill out and take stock of what’s happening is helpful,” Samm says. “We want to help people reach their potential.”
