Katallasso Family Health Center Katallasso (Greek: reconciliation). We come alongside those in need and walk with them on their life journey to help meet those needs.

Katallasso Family Health Center is a faith-based, non-profit, charitable healthcare center that provides high-quality, licensed services to the uninsured and underinsured of York County. All of our patients are cared for with dignity and respect regardless of a patient’s personal beliefs or their ability to pay. We reach beyond healthcare with a commitment to care for our patients in order to see them restored physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Meet Dr. King, Volunteer Internal Medicine Physician 👋

👨‍⚕️Dr. King was drawn to working in at a young age when he realized the important role that doctors play in the lives of family and friends. 🧬In high school, he knew he wanted to incorporate biology into his career. He overcame the rigorous academic coursework, finally conquering biochemistry, and was blessed to begin at age 26. 📚✏️

🔬He finds medicine to be exactly what he was looking for: a way to help people in time of need while being immersed in science. Dr. King completed his residency in internal , and after years of primary care practice, became a very full time hospitalist which allowed him to orchestrate the hospital resources and gifted healthcare professionals to deliver good outcomes for seriously ill patients.

❤️When asked about his experience at Katallasso, Dr. King shared that: 🩺“volunteering at Katallasso had a very positive impact on me. I am reminded that helping people was what motivated me to get into medicine in the first place. 👉The encounters are not transactional—and the opportunity to share my faith in Jesus and pray with patients brings me joy every time I am there. 🙏I’m thankful to be working with like-minded volunteers.”

A fun fact about him is that Dr. King has 7 adult children and is a retired Colonel of the U.S. Army—and he’s never had a crew cut! 🇺🇸

Our volunteers are the lifeblood of our clinic. 🩸 A is involved in every single patient interaction at Katallasso. Out of our 14 outstanding volunteer nurses, we’d like to recognize Olivia, for her graduating from her RN program! 👏

On her first official morning as a Registered Nurse graduate, Olivia graciously offered to cover a shift on short notice when a peer fell ill. Olivia brings a gentleness in her presence at Katallasso while providing a compassionate, kind, loving and high level of nursing care. She is a wonderful addition to our caring family and we are truly blessed to have her.

🍪In addition to her volunteer service, Olivia regularly bakes our team delicious oatmeal brown sugar cookies! 😉
