📢 Two-State Listeria Outbreak Is Over

The CDC announced on July 24, 2025, that its co-investigation with FDA into the multistate outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes infections linked to recalled ready-to-eat foods is complete, and the outbreak is over.

🥗 Fresh & Ready Foods, LLC, of San Fernando, California, recalled its ready-to-eat products linked to 10 illnesses in two states.
🏥 Among the 10 hospitalizations in California and Nevada, there was one death attributed to listeriosis before the recall on May 10, 2025.
🔍 FDA is now working with Fresh & Ready Foods on corrective and preventive actions.

🚨 FDA targets 7-OH opioid products

In a late July update, the FDA announced plans to restrict 7-OH, a concentrated by-product of the kratom plant. FDA says that unlike natural kratom leaf, 7-OH binds to opioid receptors and poses a risk for abuse.
