Today Briggs and I did our Therapy Dog visits to many at Yorkview Nursing and Rehabilitation and to youth at a shelter/ detention center. People sure smile a lot when they see us! Briggs and I are proud of Stratton too as he works hard as a SAR and Criminal Investigation K9.
Consider donating to us tomorrow to assure we can continue serving!

πŸŽƒπŸ•ΈοΈ Happy Halloween from Yorkview Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation! πŸ‘»πŸ•·οΈ

Today our halls were filled with spooky fun and festive spirit as our staff and residents celebrated Halloween with our annual Costume Contest! From creative costumes to lots of laughter, everyone had a frightfully good time!

We’re excited to announce that this year’s winner was none other than our Director of Social Services β€” β€œthe witch!” πŸͺ„πŸ–€ Her spellbinding costume and Halloween spirit truly cast a charm on everyone!

πŸ§›β€β™€οΈ Fun Halloween Facts:
πŸŽƒ Halloween originated from the ancient Celtic festival Samhain, marking the end of harvest season.
🍬 Americans spend over $3 billion on Halloween candy each year!
πŸ‘» The tradition of dressing up in costumes started as a way to ward off spirits.
πŸ•―οΈ The first Jack-O’-Lanterns were made from turnips, not pumpkins!

We’re so proud of our Yorkview team for making this Halloween one to remember β€” full of fun, friendship, and festive cheer! 🧑

πŸŽƒπŸ¬ Happy National Candy Corn Day! πŸ¬πŸŽƒ

Here at Yorkview Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation, we’re celebrating one of the most iconic Halloween treats β€” Candy Corn!

Did you know…
🌽 Candy corn was invented in the 1880s by George Renninger of the Wunderlee Candy Company.
🍯 It was originally called β€œChicken Feed” because corn was mainly used for livestock back then.
🍬 Each piece has three colors β€” yellow, orange, and white β€” to resemble a kernel of corn.
😲 And here’s a fun fact: if you stack candy corn pieces in a circle, they actually form the shape of a corn cob! How cool is that?

Now we’ve got to know…
πŸ‘‰ Are you Team Candy Corn 😍 or No Candy Corn for Me πŸ™…β€β™€οΈ?

🐾 Happy National Black Cat Day from all of us at Yorkview Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation! 🐾

Today, we’re shining a spotlight on these sleek, mysterious, and charming felines β€” the black cat! πŸ–€

For centuries, black cats have been surrounded by fascinating superstitions:
✨ In some cultures, they’re believed to bring good luck and prosperity β€” especially if one crosses your path!
πŸ€ In others, they’ve been unfairly linked to bad luck or witchcraft, especially during the Halloween season.
πŸ’ And in parts of England and Japan, a black cat is said to bring love and happiness to newlyweds.

No matter what the superstition says, we know one thing for sure β€” black cats are just as lovable, loyal, and full of personality as any other pet! πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸ’–

Share a photo of your black cat or tell us their name below β€” let’s celebrate these magical little companions together!
