Jesus said, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:39)
But how can you love your neighbor if you’re not caring for yourself?
It’s like the oxygen mask on an airplane — you have to put on your own mask before helping someone else. Why? Because if you pass out, you can’t help anyone.
The same goes for your health. You can’t pour from an empty cup. You can’t serve your family, community, or God’s calling if you’re exhausted, malnourished, and overwhelmed.
I use a Hierarchy of Needs to help women build their capacity to serve, starting with a strong foundation:
1. Build the Foundation: Recovery & Capacity Balance — Nourishment, sleep, stress management, mental clarity.
2. Strength & Resilience: Movement, flexibility, and mobility — Honoring God’s design.
3. Skill & Practice: Consistency and growth, just like your spiritual journey.
Reflection: Are you building a strong foundation to love and serve others well? Or are you constantly running on empty?
Call to Action: If you need help building your capacity to love your neighbor well, let’s talk. That’s what I’m here for.
