With freezing weather sweeping across the country, we know parents may worry about keeping their babies warm. ❄️ It's important to remember that soft bedding, like cozy blankets, can block a baby’s airway and create an unsafe sleep environment. Instead, keep your little one warm with a sleep sack—it’s a safe and cozy alternative!

As fun as sledding can be, it can also be just as dangerous. 🛷

Follow these tips from Healthy Children to ensure your child’s safety this sledding season:

• Keep sledders away from motor vehicles, obstructions, and crowded areas.
• Ensure your children are supervised while sledding.
• Keep young children separated from older children.
• Teach your child to sled feet first or sitting up, instead of lying down head-first, to help prevent head injuries.
• Use steerable sleds, not snow disks or inner tubes.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! ❄️

Follow the SKPA safety tips to keep you and your family happy and healthy this winter season!

1. Dress your children in warm clothing (hat, gloves, scarves, possibly ear coverings, etc.) 🧤
2. Use your child’s puffy coat as a blanket instead of a coat while in a vehicle to keep them safely strapped in. 🧥
3. Have everyone come inside periodically from playing in the cold to prevent hypothermia or frostbite. 🏡
4. Remember to put sunscreen on the whole family and stay hydrated! 🚰

It's National Passenger Safety Week! Parents can make a difference in their teens' driving behaviors by talking about expectations ahead of time. Teens with a formal driving or passenger agreement are less likely to risks behind the wheel or as a passenger. Setting clear rules and practicing safe driving decisions everyday will help teens form good habits for the future.

Evenflo has issued a voluntary recall for All4One car seats. Testing found potential for the adjustable recline mechanism to shift from one position to another in rear facing mode. If the recline position changes during a crash, a backseat rider sitting next to the rear facing car seat is at risk of injury if their fingers are inside the recline mechanism.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲. Instructions are available on the Evenflo website that allow a towel to be placed inside the recline mechanism to fill in the open space.

See our website for more details including model list, towel instruction link, and replacement remedy for affected seats.

Here’s a friendly reminder!

Don't forget: Your child's car seat or booster seat also has a shelf life! We know that life is busy and those expiration dates can slip our minds, so consider this a friendly reminder to check those expiration dates. Find the expiration date, usually on the date of manufacture sticker on the bottom or back of the car seat or stamped on the plastic shell. While you have the seat out, you can snap a photo of the label or pop the expiration date reminder into your favorite calendar app.

January is Bath Safety Month! 🛁

Whether you are bathing your baby in the sink or splashing around with your toddler in the bathtub, safety must come first. Never leave your child unattended around water. We know it sounds strict, but there is no room for compromise on this one, as babies can drown in as little as one inch of water within a minute.

We’re proud to be part of the Safe Kids Buckle Up program!

In fiscal year 2025, we distributed over 9,000 car seats! The best way to keep your child safe in the car is to use the right car seat in the right way, but far too many families cannot access or afford the resources they need. As we look ahead to 2026, we know there's still so much work to do. With your help, we can ensure ALL children, regardless of background, have access to the safety resources they need to grow and thrive.
