A challenging case with a successful outcome!

This patient came for an emergency visit with a fractured tooth. The tooth was previously root canal treated but didn’t have a crown. After a thorough evaluation and discussion, the patient chose to save the tooth with a crown and avoid an extraction

The most difficult part of the case was isolating the tooth to fully visualize the extent of the fracture. Once that was accomplished, we were able to move forward and place a porcelain crown on the tooth, restoring it to its full function

Dental issues don’t always present with pain. During our new patient exam, we detected a crack on an old silver filling. After appropriate testing and a thorough discussion, we opted to proceed with a crown.

Once the old filling was removed, the crack in the tooth became more apparent. We removed as much of the crack as possible and preserved the remaining tooth structure with appropriate protocols. A crown was later placed on the tooth. A challenging case overall that we will continue to monitor and further treat as needed.
