This post will contain all Travel Warnings (Red) that are issued for counties in Indiana. And it will be updated throughout the evening. A Travel Warning means that travel is restricted to Emergency Management Workers and Essential Workers only. We will only be posting counties that issue Travel Warnings and restrict travel.

A Travel Warning has been issued for Delaware County and Muncie from 10:00 PM tonight until 8:00 AM on Wednesday.

5:00 PM Update: Here's a look at what we are expecting this evening and tonight. Freezing drizzle and light freezing rain will develop across the entire state of Indiana and Western Ohio. Icy road conditions will likely develop statewide and travel will become treacherous in many areas. Travel is NOT recommended unless absolutely necessary tonight.

Up to a quarter of an inch of freezing rain could fall across parts of Central, Southern and Eastern Indiana and Western Ohio. Again, we expect travel to become extremely treacherous tonight and travel is not recommended.

In addition to the threat of light freezing drizzle, we also believe parts of Northwestern and Northern Indiana could see 1-2" of snow. That combined with winds gusting up to 35 mph will lead to blowing and drifting and very hazardous road conditions. *It should be noted - the areas on this map that are outlined with 1-2" of snow will also get light freezing rain and ice build-up is likely*

Heavy lake effect snow is expected tonight and tomorrow across far Northwestern Indiana and a Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Lake & Porter Counties for 4-8" of lake effect snow and significant blowing and drifting.

Temperatures will rapidly fall tonight and any leftover moisture will quickly refreeze in addition to the threat of freezing rain and snow.

As of 5:00 PM, most areas including Indianapolis were at or below 32 degrees and we expect the threat of freezing rain and ice accumulation to return to much of Northern and Central Indiana over the next couple of hours.
