Yorktown Volunteer Fire Departmentand Nordheim Volunteer Fire Company joined us today in ERG, search and rescue, triage and burns treatment. Thank you to the members from each organization who participated today. Practicing together helps us when the real events occur. We appreciate you giving your Saturday afternoon to train with us.

Yorktown EMS, Yorktown VFD and Nordheim VFD are running a joint training at the EMS staion this afternoon. There will be several fire and EMS units on scene. You may even see some smoke coming from the area. Please don’t be alarmed. It is just a smoke machine. The FD teams will be practicing their search and rescue skills and EMS triage and initial stabilization.

Meet your EMS Providers !!
Join us Sunday, May 18 from 5-7 pm at the Yorktown EMS Station at 508 N Riedel. Blood pressure checks, education material as well as CPR certification will be available. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be provided. Come help us kick off EMS Week.

Thank you to all the responders who came out to learn about implementing a comprehensive approach to calls involving sexual assaults. We will be hosting more classes for anyone who is interested.

1 in 4 female and 1 in 6 males have been sexually assaulted some time in their life. We hope to help first responders (and teachers) learn to identify the signs of abuse and help survivors get the resources they need quickly.

K4 is capable of helping identify those resources and linking survivors and their families to the services they need. K4 also does trainings for first responders, schools and the community on various topics relating to child safety. We are excited to partner with them on accomplishing
this goal.
