Yorktown EMS is running a CPR and first aid class this Sunday at 10am (Nov. 16th). The class is free. Anyone ages 10 and up are welcome. Topics covered are cpr, first aid, overdose/narcan and stop the bleed. CPR cards are Issued at the completion of the class.

*Please contact us if you need an AHA card specifically. They do have a fee associated*

A message from our EMS Director:

To everyone who came to support us today- Thank you! We are so grateful to each of you who came out to support us. This is the third year that we have held this event and each year seems to have a bigger turn out. This year you bought over 600 plates, 10 whole briskets, the entire bake sale table and even jars of BBQ sauce. We also had a generous sponsor who sent plates to the some of our elderly residents in town. Y’all really are amazing.

This whole thing could not be possible without our amazing sponsors and volunteers. So a big thank you goes to all those who make this event happen each year. From our sales team Amy Lamprecht, Valda Lamprecht (and TrustTexas), Bobby Strieber (and Citizens Bank) and Ms. Mary Lee Kozielski to our cook team who stays up all night watching the pits- Troy Alvarez, Connie Hall, Robert & Rene Alvarez, Trace Alvarez, Kayla and Eric Stelhing, and Katie & Chad Newman. This years VIP of the assembly line Tanner Green and all who helped assemble plates. And to Chris Buesing at Buesing Deer Processing for donating delicious sausage again this year. For those who didn’t get see his sign because the wind kept blowing it down- his website is linked. It really is delicious.

We hope you enjoyed the BBQ and we hope to see you again next November. THANK YOU again everyone! We are truly appreciative of your support.

Hey Yorktown (and Nordheim)- THANK YOU for always showing up for us. We have sold over 600 plates today. We do have a few more if anyone is interested. We are also doing something a little different this year. We have a few WHOLE COOKED briskets, some pints of potato salad and some pints of green beans up for grabs. The brisket are $75 each and the sides are available for a donation. Please contact us if you are interested. Hey Yorktown- did you happen to see the roll out of the new to us unit 1432 at Yorktown Western Days? The new color design is highly visible and displays our updated logo. It also carried a reminder that we are having our annual BBQ fundraiser November 9th at community hall. Tickets are available online, at Citizens and Trust Texas Banks and with any EMS member. We hope you have a fun and safe Western Days Weekend!
