Dr. K. E. Neill, III: Retirement Announcement (Another Update)
After 36 years, I will retire from the practice of dentistry. Dr. K. E. Neill, Jr. established this practice in 1967 after a tour as an Air Force dentist. I joined my father in 1989. For nearly six decades, a Dr. Neill has been serving the community at this location.
The office building is under contract sooner than expected which has retirement happening sooner than expected. We plan to see patients through April 17. We will be adding some days in March to try and get as many patients taken care of as we can.
We have run out of doctors Neill so this will be an end of an era. People still remember the aquarium in the wall that my father had in the waiting room, which is now the back entrance. They also remember "Miss Kitty", my grandmother, working the front desk.
Over the decades, we have been blessed with an excellent staff. Some truly exceptional individuals have worked at this office over the years. My current staff is an absolute joy to work with and leaving them is one of the most difficult things about retiring. Everyone that has worked here has done their absolute best to take care of our patient family.
We do think of you as family. We appreciate each and every one of you and are honored by the trust that you have placed in us. It really brings it home when I have a patient in the chair and I remember working on their parents when they were children. It is amazing the multiple generations of family we have taken care of.
We do encourage you to continue your preventative maintenance and to schedule your check up visits. There are no area dental offices that I would tell you to avoid. I would feel comfortable having any of them work on my teeth. These are just a few suggestions.
Closest to our office is Dr. Bryan Geary, (757) 898-4661. I recently needed my front six teeth crowned. Dr. Geary and his staff took excellent care of me. Next time you see me, you can ask to see my new smile. This is the dentist that I am going to. A little further down Rt.17, is Dr. Keith Vaughan, (757) 898-3366. Our connection to this office is his hygienist. She grew up in our practice. We think the world of her and she thinks the world of her dentist. That tells me all that I need to know. A little further down the street is York River Dental, (757) 969-1356. Ann, Tara and Shalie will be working there. If you go to this practice, you will see some familiar faces. In the Kiln Creek area, is Dr. Guy Levy, (757) 877-9281. If Bryan had not taken care of me, Guy was the next dentist I was going to call. In Poquoson, is Taylor Dental Care, (757) 868-9334.
