August 1st marks the Gaelic festival of Lughnasadh, the halfway point between the summer solstice and the autumn equinox. For us, it’s the official online launch date of our yearly “Season of the Witch” class + events calendar!

This year we’ve turned the heat up on the cauldron, with our finest lineup of classes, workshops, and special events yet. Welcome to this week’s spotlight, witches! This week’s feature belongs to one of our most flashy ingredients, Labradorite!

Labradorite correlates with all seven chakras! The zodiac signs associated with this crystal are Leo, Scorpio, and Sagittarius. Labradorite’s planetary rulers are the Moon, Uranus, and Pluto. Its element is Air and it vibrates to the numbers 6 and 7.

We have a much anticipated H+H class debut this August, witches! Join us on the 22nd for “Intro. to Protection Magic.”

“Shop Witch is back to teach this lecture-style class introducing students to the art of protection magic. He will go over foundational principles, various techniques, and practical applications. Students will learn how to shield themselves and others from negative influences, enhance personal and communal safety, and create magical wards spiritual and magical protection. We will go over herbs, stones, candles, spirits, and best practices while emphasizing an application-based approach so all students will leave ready to create their own protection amulets or ward the boundaries of their home.”

Spell jars are truly one of our top go-to’s when it’s time to get a job done, am I right, witches?! We all use them. We all have empty jars cluttering our home apothecary shelves. We have them hiding in the freezer. We have them tucked away on our altars. If you’re unfamiliar, we wanted to take a moment to spotlight our top-selling haus Spell Jar Kit!

Our Spell Jar Kit is the perfect (and easy) way to utilize many spell ingredients simultaneously for one intention!

Each kit includes:
1 glass jar with cork
1 spell scroll
3 apothecary ingredients
1 tumbled crystal
1 chime candle

The shop witches assembled this “Home Protection Jar” as an example to show all of you! This jar is crafted with black salt, angelica root, bay leaves, Black Tourmaline, and a black candle. Write the names of everyone living in the home on the scroll, including your pets! Assemble the jar and light the candle with the intention of protecting everyone involved. You can simply let the candle burn down or as it burns, use the dripping wax to seal your jar. Once complete, this jar can be left upon your altar, kept by the front door, or left in a primary windowsill.

Welcome to this week’s spotlight, witches! This week’ feature is on one of our lesser known roots, Beth Root!

Some other folk names for this root include Low John, Chewing John, Little John, Southern John, and Court Case Root. Beth root is a masculine herb. His planetary ruler is Mars and his element is Fire.

Beth root is believed to bring good luck (especially in court cases), protection and success, making it a popular ingredient in spell work and rituals. Beth root is often used for protection and for breaking curses and hexes. It is also believed to bring good fortune and success, making it a popular ingredient in money and prosperity spells. Beth root is also used in traditional healing practices for its grounding and energizing effects, helping to bring balance and harmony to the mind and body. The aroma from this herb also serves as an aphrodisiac, which is why many people also use this root herb during love magic to promote higher sexuality and sensuality.

It’s back, witches! This H+H class favorite is returning and you’ll want to secure your ticket before they’re gone, as this class usually sells out! For those of you who are unfamiliar, let us take a moment to introduce you to “Intro. to Divination.”

“Your instructor will teach you about several divination methods from spirit boards to tea leaves, card reading to crystal balls, pendulums, and much much more. 

Become knowledgeable on the history and origin of the methods plus the application techniques for several of those methods.

You will get to view examples of divination in film and television, adding to the fun atmosphere of this class. The second half of the evening will give you a chance to try out the methods of your choosing for yourself with a class partner, enabling you to leave feeling excited and confident about a new skill(or two, or three!) You’ll be able to separate into small groups or individual tables, with one on one coaching from Ruby available. Each student gets to take home a gift.”
