Love to see this officer honored for his efforts! Some may think it’s just part of the job, but this officer took immediate action based on training he had received and followed through to save a life. Being in the CPR training and AED business, we hear about a lot of rescues and always feel elated when a victim of cardiac arrest survives. The stars were aligned that day!

At tonight’s Trustee’s meeting, we honored Bristol Kendall Fire Cadet Kaleb Dhuse, Citizen James Stepien, and Yorkville Police Department Officer Tim Kolowski with Lifesaving Awards for their quick response in helping save the life of citizen, Mr. Randall Stiles.

Mr. Stiles went into cardiac arrest on Monday, June 16, 2025 at the boat launch in town located at 201 E Hydraulic Ave. Their initial response and swift actions that day made the difference between life and death.

The bravery, training, and willingness to act by these individuals exemplify the very best of public service and community spirit.

Pictured below are also members of the crew on scene that day:

FF/PM Jaime Martinez, FF/EMT Ryan Galvan, FF/EMT Richard Montgomery, Cadet Kaleb Dhuse, Randall Stiles, Citizen James Stepien, Officer Tim Kolowski, and FF/PM Lucas Lee

Love to hear about and share successful rescue stories. Congrats to these brave and conscientious team members!

The 4th of July is almost here! As experienced safety advisors, we recommend everyone to kick back and enjoy the fireworks displays conducted by professionals, and not to use fireworks at home - even if legal! Thousands of fireworks-related injuries occur every year, many to children and young adults. Fireworks also cause more than 31,000 fires annually.

If you or your neighbors still can't resist lighting fireworks, here are some safety tips from the National Safety Council:

● Never allow young children to handle fireworks

● Older children should use them only under close adult supervision

● Never use fireworks while impaired by drugs or alcohol

● Anyone using fireworks or standing nearby should wear protective eyewear

● Never hold lighted fireworks in your hands

● Never light them indoors

● Only use them away from people, houses and flammable material

● Never point or throw fireworks at another person

● Only light one device at a time and maintain a safe distance after lighting

● Never ignite devices in a container

● Do not try to re-light or handle malfunctioning fireworks

● Soak both spent and unused fireworks in water for a few hours before discarding

● Keep a bucket of water nearby to fully extinguish fireworks that don't go off or in case of fire

● Never use illegal fireworks

Stay safe everyone!

Happy to be supporting another wonderful organization that changes people's lives for the better! The photo below tells all: PURE JOY! Camp Wamp protects the hearts of their campers with AED pads and battery that we were able to donate. 🙂 Note from the Camp Director below:

Hello Elizabeth,

Gosh, I just read the email our Nurse Jen forwarded to me. THANK YOU!

Your donation of the AED supplies for Camp Wamp is so generous. We raise funds all year so kids can come to camp each summer. So, anyway to save some money is quite refreshing. We truly cannot thank you enough.

Once again, Thank You for your kind words and thoughtful donation.

Here is one of my favorite photos from camp last year.

Warm Regards,
