Paint in Motion Yoga at the The Ryan Giambattista HELMS Foundation of the Mahoning Valley ArtScape Expressive was a beautiful blend of creativity, connection, and self-expression today. All ages came together to use paint on our bodies, turning each movement into a living art masterpiece.

Through the power of yoga, art therapy, and social emotional learning, kids and adults alike explored emotion, presence, and play in a truly unique way. It was a joyful, messy, and mindful experience that we’ll never forget.

Build and Breathe Yoga is a playful kids yoga class where mindful movement meets creative exploration. Through gentle yoga, calming breathwork, and building with bricks, children practice social-emotional learning in a hands-on, engaging way. Each brick becomes a chance to slow down, focus, and create with intention. Kids build confidence, calm, and connection—one mindful moment at a time. Each Little Yogi will adopt a mini and brick mat to accompany them on their own mat during class, encouraging imagination, presence, and personal connection to their practice.

Build. Breathe. Grow!

The births I am privileged to witness are something sacred. They are something words can barely hold. Mothers bring their babies into the world with a quiet strength that moves everyone in the room. And the partners that I have the honor of working with show up without fear. There is a stillness at times, like a deep pause… like the earth itself is holding its breath. In these moments, it feels like something greater is near; God is gently watching, and perhaps all those silent prayers I offer up to our Mother have the Blessed Mother gently guiding. All the generations of mothers who have gone before are proudly watching and praying. I see mamas dig deep, past fear, past exhaustion, and find courage that feels ancient and wise. Their tears, their laughter, and the trembling in their voices are all so raw and real. Being there and holding space feels like standing on holy ground. I bear witness to these miracles and become a guardian of motherhood as these new mamas find their voice in the birthing room. I come home tired, but my heart is full. Seeing partners work together is so beautiful. These are the moments that remind me why I do this.

Becoming a kids’ yoga instructor has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my life—not just as a teacher, but as a mom. Watching my own children grow through this practice has been powerful and deeply personal. Yoga has given them tools for their wellbeing: the ability to pause and breathe through big emotions, the confidence to name what they’re feeling without shame, a sense of calm and focus at times of struggle, and opportunities to listen, connect, and move with others in meaningful ways. This isn’t perfection- it’s purposeful learning. As an instructor, I get to witness the small but profound shifts that happen in a room full of children. A quiet child begins to speak up in the yoga space. An energetic one learns how to slow down. Through breath, movement, and connection, kids start to understand themselves and each other more deeply. I believe in this work because it builds more than flexibility—it builds resilience, empathy, and emotional strength. It carries on into the educational setting, where I see it when I’m teaching. It offers children a safe place to explore who they are, and it gives us as adults a way to meet them right where they are. If we can help our kids build that inner world early on… just imagine the future we’re creating.

Our Little Yogis launched into a cosmic journey to the sun. Through movement and mindfulness, we explored the power of working together with a fun planetary parachute activity and practiced gratitude with our new journals.

Everyone took home space clay for some out-of-this-world sensory fun. We focused on building social-emotional awareness, connecting breath to emotion, and shining our inner light—just like the sun.

THIS SATURDAY! Join us for Little Sunbeams Yoga, a joyful, heart-centered yoga experience designed for young children to move, breathe, and connect—just like little rays of sunshine! Inspired by the summer solstice, our class celebrates the longest day of the year while fostering mindfulness, gratitude, and self-awareness. Children will explore gentle yoga poses, breathing exercises, and guided visualizations that help build emotional resilience, self-regulation, and a deeper understanding of their own inner light. We’ll learn about the sun’s power, its role in nature, and how its warmth and energy help everything grow—including us! Come join our Little Yogi family! Snack and craft provided for all littles, with a special surprise from a local business! Adults are welcome to join their littles on the mat / stay in our lobby space during class and enjoy quiet time, browse literature to read, or shop for local made products. Classes must be pre-registered and pre-paid. Visit the link in the comments to register!
