To adequately express my trip is gonna be a bit of a challenge. It wasn't as much a vacation as it was a pilgrimage, which I chose to go on to be with my teachers and my ayllu, my family.
Not my 1st Peru trip - so, i made different choices. I LOVE being a photographer but this time chose to immerse myself in to the deeper experience of it all, in the deeper now. (of course i took pictures, background thoughts instead of foreground)
I enjoyed the excited newness of those who had not been here before. I remembered & shared their joys, wonders & discoveries.
Being in pristine locations, uncontaminated, has massive benefits to our beingness. It can also poke the "unpure" areas of the mind / emotions (ego). This was a pilgrimage to deepen my self awareness. It definitely worked me over. My aged body sleeping on the ground, in a tent, high in altitude, varied temperatures, presented much differently. My awareness of being a 'creature of comforts' was tapped on in new levels. Then i remembered, "oh, this happened the last time also. I'll get thru this" - its temporary. I had real physical challenges before i left, so i was in deep gratitude daily that my physical body kept up. The crew - our ayllu - went above & beyond to help in ways that were possible. Extremely caring company/group.
With reverence, full-heart, gratitude, honor, respect, trust, knowing i am fully guided - i walked the sacred path.
Thank you to my teachers, friends, brothers / sisters, my ayllu, and all who support me - deepest munay - deepest love.
