💜 So thankful 💜

More resources. More reach. Stronger recovery. 💚

At My Mental Health, we believe no one should have to face the challenges of substance use, trauma, or mental health alone. That’s why we’re proud to announce our new partnership with McCleary Recovery— a powerful grassroots harm reduction and outreach initiative based in Youngstown, Ohio.

Together, we’re expanding access, building trust, and creating real change — one person, one story, and one recovery at a time.

Let’s continue to meet people where they are — with compassion, dignity, and the resources they deserve.

Today, we honor the mothers who never gave up on us — the ones who prayed, cried, waited, and loved us through our darkest moments.

To the mothers in recovery, fighting every day for a better life — your strength is unmatched.
To the mothers who’ve lost children to addiction — we carry your pain with us, and we fight in their memory.
To the women who step in as mother figures for those who feel lost — your love is life-saving.
And to the mothers of those still struggling — don’t lose hope. Recovery is possible. Change is real.

At McCleary Recovery, we know that behind every story of healing, there’s often a mother whose love was the first light in the darkness. Today, we remember you. We thank you. We stand with you.

Narcan isn’t just for individuals with substance use disorders.

It’s for:
• The toddler who accidentally ingests something harmful at the park.
• The friend whose drink was unknowingly laced.
• The teenager who experimented with something a peer handed them.
• A loved one facing a mental health crisis and reaching for what’s in the medicine cabinet.
• The elderly family member who mistakenly takes an extra dose of their prescription.
• The injured athlete who developed a dependence on pain medication.

The need for Narcan extends beyond addiction—it’s about safety, compassion, and second chances.

At McCleary Recovery, we believe every life is worth saving. Harm reduction is not about enabling—it’s about preserving the opportunity for recovery, healing, and hope.

Let’s stop the stigma. Let’s protect our communities.
Because every life matters.

Sometimes the darkness doesn’t scream — it whispers. Quietly convincing you that you’re a burden, that no one would understand, that the weight you carry is yours alone to bear.

But that voice lies.

I’ve seen too many good people drown in silence, masking pain with a smile, answering ‘I’m fine’ when their soul is bleeding. Mental health isn’t just about bad days — it’s about the war behind the eyes that no one sees. And the truth is: you don’t have to fight that war alone.

If you’re struggling, reach out. Not because it’s easy — but because your life matters more than your silence. We’d rather hear your story than read your obituary. You are not weak for needing help. You’re human.

At McCleary Recovery, we’re here. No judgment. No shame. Just people who’ve been there — in the dark, at the edge, and back.

Please, keep going. Someone out there loves you — even if you can’t see it right now.

Relapse Doesn’t Mean Failure – A Journey Through Recovery

This visual from McCleary Recovery illustrates the truth that relapse is not the end, but part of the healing process. Recovery is a step-by-step journey, starting from substance use and moving through attempts at change, setbacks, reflection, and renewed commitment. Each stage builds strength, insight, and resilience. Even if you stumble, you are still moving forward. Your story isn’t over—it’s evolving.

There was a time I didn’t think I’d make it out. A time when the weight of addiction, trauma, and loss had me convinced I was beyond saving. I was broken—mentally, spiritually, emotionally. And honestly, I didn’t care if I woke up the next day.

But I did.
And then I did again.
And somehow, piece by piece, day by day… I started coming back to life.

That journey—filled with setbacks, heartache, healing, and growth—is why McCleary Recovery exists.

This isn’t just a page. It’s not just a brand.
It’s a movement born out of loss, rebirth, and a refusal to let pain have the final say.

I started this in honor of my brother. In honor of everyone who didn’t make it. In honor of those still out there, fighting for their lives—some silently, some screaming. If you’re one of them, I want you to know:

You are not alone.

Recovery isn’t linear. It’s messy. It’s hard.
But it is possible. And it is worth it.
Not because life gets perfect, but because you do—over time, in moments of clarity, honesty, and strength.

McCleary Recovery is about showing up for each other.
It’s about harm reduction, compassion, second chances, and being a voice for the voiceless.
It’s about turning pain into purpose and proving that rock bottom is not the end—it’s a new beginning.

It’s unfortunate to share that a nonprofit organization I was scheduled to meet with tomorrow for a potential partnership will no longer be moving forward with McCleary Recovery due to concerns surrounding their integrity and misrepresentation within the LGBTQ+ community.

That said, I want to reaffirm that McCleary Recovery remains a welcoming, inclusive, and safe space for everyone. No matter your background, identity, or what brings you through our doors, you are valued here. At our upcoming events, we’ll have designated areas for those who may feel hesitant or anxious about engaging in group settings — spaces where you can connect one-on-one with compassionate, understanding individuals without fear of judgment, rejection, or harassment.

McCleary Recovery is built on the belief that no one should ever feel alone in their struggles. While our roots are in substance use support, our mission extends far beyond that. We’re here for individuals battling mental health challenges, families affected by substance use, those facing discrimination, and anyone navigating the weight of this often unforgiving world.

Our commitment is to inclusivity, compassion, and authentic human connection — regardless of age, race, gender identity, or religion. Always.

Owl you need is rest.

At McCleary Recovery, we know that healing takes time—and that’s perfectly okay. This wise little friend is here to remind you: be gentle, be patient, and above all, be kind to yourself.

You’re doing owl-right, one step at a time.

Today is National Fentanyl Awareness Day.
This isn’t just another day on the calendar—it’s a call to action, a moment of remembrance, and a time to speak truth.

Fentanyl is the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18-45. It’s not just a “drug problem.” It’s stolen lives, shattered families, and silenced futures. Many never even knew they were taking it.

If you’ve lost someone—say their name.
If you’ve survived—share your story.
If you’re still here—don’t give up. You matter.

Let’s fight stigma with compassion. Let’s fight silence with awareness. And let’s honor the ones we’ve lost by doing better for those still here.

Today we had the honor of representing McCleary Recovery at the kid carnival for child abuse prevention— spreading awareness, offering resources, and connecting with our community. Every conversation brings us closer to breaking the stigma around addiction and supporting those in need.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn more about harm reduction, recovery support, and how together we can make a difference.

At McCleary Recovery, we believe recovery is not one-size-fits-all. Every person’s journey is unique — and so are their needs.

Harm reduction is a compassionate, evidence-based approach that focuses on minimizing the negative consequences of substance use rather than demanding immediate abstinence. It’s about building trust, offering resources, and keeping people alive long enough to find their own path to recovery.

This could mean:
• Providing access to naloxone (overdose reversal medication)
• Offering clean supplies to prevent infections
• Supporting medication-assisted treatment
• Simply listening without judgment

Recovery starts with respect — not ultimatums.
It starts with hope — not shame.

At McCleary Recovery, we don’t give up on people. We walk alongside them, one step at a time.

If you or someone you love needs support, know that help is here. You are not alone.
