Unpopular opinion: you don’t have to fix your body & you probably shouldn’t be 🤐

🥺But victims of diet culture will still say but I ate this I have to burn it off! Do you? Are you sure?

🧠What if your body actually needed that so your brain could focus on something besides its next meal for 5 minutes

🥶What if your body needed that so you could have a normal body temperature instead of freezing 24/7 using the blow dryer to keep yourself warm everyday

Honestly, the bigger question to consider is 👇

🛠️what makes you feel like you HAVE to fix your body aka micromanage it(especially after eating)?

🫣Fear of your body changing
🫣Fear of others judging you
🫣Fear of losing identity
🤫What you were told to do (diet culture)
🫣Fear of weight gain

🫠Because I used to have those same fears, the I have to fix this mentality…. ⏳It’s taken time but after undoing beliefs & setting boundaries …. 🥰 I trust my body to do its thing… trust me, you will be able to too!

I used to be like you—I used to think showing strength meant skipping meals and waiting the longest to feel hungry. The strength & willpower I showed with food? It was surface-level.

💪 The indestructible attitude I portrayed was all about showing no emotion and handling life unphased. But when you don’t eat, it gives you a “runner’s high” (more or less), and it numbs your emotions.

🥸 Society’s acceptable form of hiding the truth.

I get it. I understand that you think skipping that snack or waiting for others to break is how to do it. But really, it’s not.

😵‍💫 Skipping meals and snacks weakens your mind and body because, quite literally, you don’t have the fuel to keep going.

🤡 Your eating disorder masks this, convincing you it’s keeping you “safe” when actually it’s keeping you numb.

🪫 Your body doesn’t have the energy to prioritize emotions anymore—it’s desperately trying to get you to eat, sending signals in every way it can.

But when you choose to take that break first, when you honor your hunger, you’re showing your body, “Hey, I’m listening,” “Hey, I’m putting myself first.”

The reward of feeling truly strong & powerful for choosing yourself is unmatched! 💥

I promise you though, your body does this s**t for a reason.

🫶It doesn’t hate you, it’s actually trying to make sure you continue to thrive not just survive

But that doesn’t always make it less scary.

🧠Your brain when it’s wired with restriction and rigidity at the forefront will remind you like F**kn crazy SOMETHING CHANGED 😱

I am sorry but these two recommendations should not be the first recommendations that fall out of a care providers mouth🤮🤐

When you’re looking for support for ED recovery you want to prioritize these things 👇

✅ expert in this field AND specific eating
disorder (they are not all the F**kn same
stop treating them as such)

✅Goals are the same
(You don’t want someone whose goal is
half ass recovery and constantly giving
you permission to stay stuck in your ED
because they have their own issues
around HAES)

✅ someone who cuts through the crap
( not going to sugar coat s**t, in recovery
you need called out)

✅someone who doesn’t F**kn treat all EDs
the same

✅ someone who doesn’t make your ED a weight disorder
( aka once your weight restored your
good to go urnt F**kn wrong. EDs are
mental health disorders and should be
treated as such)

These are just a few to watch for.

I mean might be food for thought 🤔

FYI this is why a lot of people struggle in recovery, because you’ve been applauded for….
👏🏼your weightloss
👏🏼your discipline
👏🏼Your will power
👏🏼 your dedication
👏🏼your strength
👏🏼your strict diet

Blah blah blah

🫣🫠And then as soon as you don’t fit their mold of health they say you’ve lost too much , you have no flexibility, your too rigid, etc

😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫Leaving you confused as S**T because you were being complimented out the ass. Now you are being criticized and called unhealthy. Which F**kn one is it 🤷🏻‍♀️

The solution to this s**t show ….

❌Stop placing your worth and value on your body size.
❌Stop placing your worth and value on what other people think of your body weight.
❌Stop placing your worth and value on how someone else’s body looks compared to yours

🚩 that your not connected to your body & that the external biases have taken priority over eating enough

👉I do believe protein can be a priority but I KNOW that in order for it to be a safe priority this has to come first!

🫠Because what if one day you aren’t craving the protein then what…. Eat it anyways…

🫤only to feel unsatisfied because you wouldn’t let yourself have what you wanted

😵‍💫 NOW your mental hunger is spiraling because you are so focused on that one damn food you really wanted and your wondering WTF is wrong with me

🥇You need to prioritize body trust and enough food , not these other extremist external rules

🤝Body trust comes from a place when it feels safe with enough food coming in consistently

You have to, HAVE TO own your 💩

Screaming at someone to recover or worse yet threatening them… is UNACCEPTABLE in recovery ❌

🤨What many don’t realize is that even if you scream or threaten them into gaining weight

🥺The person struggling is now at an even more vulnerable space mentally

👉They are also more likely to F**kn relapse because they did it out of fear not out of screw the ED 💩

🤝You can support someone in recovery
🤝You can cheer them on
🤝You can bat away negative comments

👎🏼BUT you cannot do the recovering for them

🧭They have to do that on their own

👉Otherwise, simply because physically they may not be at risk … they most certainly are mentally

❌I am not saying coddle the ED.

✅I am saying there is a different way to help push them as they challenge these beliefs and habits

🎛️💡In my coaching we flip the switch and dive into “is this actually creating and supporting the life YOU WANT?”

🕵🏻‍♀️🔎When we have the opportunity for a moment of clarity in this space even if it is met with resistance it can help begin to uncover whats keeping them stuck!
