Living with a painful varus knee deformity isn’t something that you have to accept— Mako robotic-assisted total knee replacement can restore alignment, function, and quality of life.

🌟 Transformation Tuesday 🌟

This severely unstable knee was found to have a 30.5° valgus deformity when stressed using the Mako robotic software. Advanced imaging and precision planning were key in preparing for a successful robotic-assisted total knee replacement.

This patient is doing very well about 6 weeks post op from a Mako robotic-assisted total hip arthroplasty. The hardest parts of recovery after a total hip replacement often include managing early pain and swelling, rebuilding strength and mobility, difficulty sleeping, fatigue, and staying mentally positive and patient during the healing process.

What was the hardest part of your recovery after your total hip replacement surgery?

🌟 Transformation Tuesday 🌟

This patient came in with years of severe left hip pain following a car accident. Preoperative X-rays reveal prior hardware for a femur fracture complicated by avascular necrosis of the femoral head. Postoperative imaging demonstrates hardware removal and successful conversion to a left total hip arthroplasty using Mako robotic-assisted technology. ✅

This patient had a whole ‘family’ of loose bodies removed during their robotic-assisted total knee replacement surgery!

Loose bodies are small fragments of cartilage or bone that break off in arthritic joints due to wear and tear. They can cause pain, swelling, and limit movement. Their removal helps restore proper joint function and improves mobility.

Prior to surgery this patient’s range of motion was 10-95 degrees. At about 1 month post op, the patient is doing very well and range of motion is now 0-115 degrees. ✅ ⭐️
