This is a VERY important message that every healing practitioner would want shouted from the rooftops!

Whether you are working to heal something physically, emotionally or viscerally; what took months, years, decades to manifest CANNOT be “fixed” in 1 or 2 treatments / days.

Healing takes time, dedication, persistence and PATIENCE!

I can’t say the number of times I get asked “how long will this take” and every time I do, I say the same thing. It will take time. No two bodies are the same. No two nervous systems are the same. No trauma wounds and experiences are exactly the same. I always recommend minimum of 6 visits. And even at that, with some of the things we work on, we are just scratching the surface.

If you are on a healing journey, do yourself the biggest favour you can, and give yourself time and grace as you continue on your journey 💜💫

Anxiety can be extremely difficult to experience; both emotionally and physically.

Not only does anxiety come with a wide variety of emotional difficulties, it can also impact your physical body.

I see this on a regular basis when working with my patients, and I too have experienced this connection.

Unpleasant emotions impact us in SO many ways that go beyond just emotional.

Any time we are feeling a heavy emotion, the nervous system actually enters the stress response; aka fight / flight.

When your body is in this state, a number of physiological processes take place. One of these being increased muscle tension.

When your muscles tense up, this can lead to that nagging neck pain, headaches, low back pain and so on.

It can also lead to more visceral symptoms like digestive issues, irregular menstrual cycles, lowered immunity or even lowered libido.

And, unsurprisingly, it can lead to emotional / behavioural issues like anxiety, insomnia, stress eating, negative self talk and so forth.

This is why it is so important to be aware that our emotions are part of the central nervous system and impact all bodily functions. And why it is so important that you seek out techniques that not only help your mental stress, but also address the physical / visceral stress in the body.

This is a saying I first heard in a Chiropractic seminar and it essentially means any thought, emotion, feeling or behaviour that you repeat over and over again gets reinforced in the brain.

The brain doesn’t care if this thought, emotion, feeling or behaviour is impacting you positively or impacting you negatively. It simply cares about what is repeated.

This is insanely important when it comes to healing because if we can learn to constantly repeat positive thoughts, feelings, emotions, and behaviours; this is what the brain will then reinforce!

This is what I do for myself and my patients on a regular basis. And it can be what you do for yourself, as well!

I was recently asked if I believe healing is a life long journey vs a one and done kinda thing. And I felt called to share my thoughts on this topic.

While I absolutely believe healing is a life long journey, I also believe you can get to a point of healing that you take your health back.

It’s like Chiropractic care. Initially you go for a lot of treatments to stabilize the body. And then the rest of the healing happens in a maintenance adjustment.

I believe emotional healing is the same.

At first it’s messy and there’s a lot of work to do. And then you get to a point where it’s more maintaining present day stressors rather than moving the truly deep and dark stuff from the body.

This is what I do with my patients and what I teach about in my courses. I’ve seen it happen. There will always be stuff that comes up. But the stuff that comes up doesn’t have to be debilitating or send us into a spiral of anxiety or depression.

I believe we all have the power to heal from anything, if we find the right people to help support us in our journey.

Triggers don’t HAVE to be a bad thing!

Triggers can actually reveal so much to us, if we let them.

Next time you are feeling triggered, do some soul searching and ask yourself what’s deeper.

When you discover what is deeper, you can work to release it from your body in whatever way resonates with you.

I like to write things down on paper to get them out and then burn the sheets of paper and return them to the earth.

I also have little sayings I say to myself like “I now choose to release this burden from my mind, body and soul” or “I release this into the light” or some other form of releasing statement.

I also love to go for Neuro Emotional Technique or Intuitive Healing sessions to help move the stress from my body.

Everything I do for myself, I do as a Doctor with my patients.
