A huge thank you to everyone who came out this past Saturday at our spook-tacular Next Level Halloween Event ! 👻🎃

We had lots of fun — from games and great food to learning experiences that made a real impact. 💙

One of the highlights? Our “drunk goggle” activity — giving teens a firsthand (and safe!) look at how alcohol affects coordination and judgment, helping teach the dangers of impaired driving and the importance of making smart, safe choices. 🚗💡

We’re so proud of everyone who came to learn, laugh, and grow together. Until next year — stay safe and keep making positive choices! 🌟

Cyberbullying Awareness – Bullying Prevention Month 🚨 October is Bullying Prevention Month, and it takes a BUDDY to stop a BULLY. 💙

Cyberbullying happens when someone uses technology—like social media, texts, or online games—to hurt, embarrass, or threaten another person. Unlike in-person bullying, it can happen anytime and spread quickly.

Here’s how you can help prevent it:
👀 NOTICE changes in moods or behaviors after device use
💬 TALK with your child or peer about what’s happening
📝 DOCUMENT incidents with screenshots or notes
📢 REPORT harmful posts to platforms, schools, or authorities
🤝 SUPPORT by intervening positively and connecting to professional help if needed

✨ Art Therapy at Baby Bump ✨

Our recent Baby Bump session, co-facilitated by Heidi Larew and Sabryna Kuehls, offered a creative, supportive space for pregnant women to explore self-expression and emotional awareness.

In this session, participants created masks representing the contrast between their inner feelings and what they show to the world—a meaningful exercise for navigating the emotional shifts and changing boundaries of pregnancy. 🎨💛

With Halloween approaching, the group added a festive touch by listening to Phantom of the Opera, enhancing both creativity and reflection.

📚💚 Mental health matters — even in the classroom.

At Alta Behavioral Healthcare, we understand that mental health doesn’t stop when students walk through the school doors. In fact, for many children and teens, school can be a source of added stress, anxiety, or emotional challenges. That’s why we bring care directly to them through our school-based services.

Our CLASSROOM CONNECTIONS program provides on-site behavioral health services in schools throughout Mahoning and Trumbull Counties — helping students strengthen their mental well-being and supporting teachers with strategies to promote classroom success. Services can include individual or group counseling, classroom presentations, and collaboration with school staff and families.

Through our LINKAGES program, we also offer suicide prevention, depression education, and risk screenings for middle and high school students — completely free to participating schools thanks to funding from local Mental Health & Recovery Boards.

By combining our team with school staff, we’re able to identify needs early, provide follow-up care when needed, and create a supportive environment where every student can thrive — both emotionally and academically.
