Whether your stories start like:
“Once upon a time…” or “See, what had happened was……”

Long weekend rides give us plenty of tall tales for Monday morning.

Let’s hear about that KOM’s 👑 or the best ☕️ ride ever.

To avoid cramping we recommend (per hour):
-One bottle of CarboRocket Half-evil 3-3-3 (2 - 3 Scoops per bottle)
-Heavy sweaters add 750mg of table salt per bottle

If you go for a 3-hour ride, you need 3 bottles! 5-hour rides need 5 bottles!

Enjoy your ride, save the 🐢 🐢 🐢 , and don’t let cramping ruin your story.

Worth reading:
https://www.trainingpeaks.com/blog/the-dangers-of-hyponatremia/

Symptoms of mild Hyponatremia are very common among cyclists after a two-hour ride :

✖︎ Weakness
✖︎ Lethargy
✖︎ Muscle
✖︎ Cramps
✖︎ Headaches

This condition can be controlled by either:
✓Reducing water intake to avoid diluting sodium levels
-and/or-
✓ Properly supplementing water with sodium and other electrolytes

We recommend 60-90g of carbs per hour along with up to 1/4 teaspoon of table salt per bottle per hour for known heavy sweaters/frequent crampers.

Do not let frequent cramps stop you from enjoying rides. Do not fuel your rides from gas stations alone. Do not leave the house without a solid nutrition plan based on science.

We can help.

Low sodium levels, known as Hyponatremia, is more common that many athletes realize. The effects range from a decrease performance to potentially fatal if left uncontrolled. Learn more from hydration expert Andy Blow about this condition and simple steps you can take to avoid it.

On the bike nutrition is important but don't neglect off-the-bike nutrition and supplements. Every Friday I take 50,000 IU of Vit D. Have you had your Vit D tested? Most people in the North America have a VitD deficiency according to research. What vitamins do you take?

Wishing you a Hoppy Easter.....because there is no eggs-cuse for poor on-the-bike-nutrition!
