For my graduation cap, I wanted to honor two extraordinary individuals who have profoundly impacted my life. Firstly, my Aunt Susan, a compassionate nurse whose unwavering dedication has been a guiding light for me. She embodies resilience, kindness, and the beauty of selflessness. The monarch butterfly will forever remind me of her beauty and loving nature. Secondly, my late father, Tim Cossey, a remarkable police officer who served his community with valor and integrity. From his roles as chief, detective, to major, he exemplified heroism and placed the needs of others above his own. The marigold flower, symbolizing his birth month, serves as a poignant reminder of his legacy.
In reflecting on this journey, I am reminded of a verse from Colossians 3 that resonates deeply with me: "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." These words encapsulate the essence of my faith and the source of my strength. Learning to trust in His divine plan and to redirect my focus towards Him has been both liberating and comforting. Today, as I sat in church, the sermon on God's enduring comfort and grace during life's darkest moments reaffirmed my belief in His unwavering presence. In times of uncertainty, I find solace in His promises. He is ever faithful, never forsaking those who seek Him.
Above all else, I dedicate this achievement to Him. It is through His guidance, grace, and unending love that I stand here today, ready to embrace the journey ahead.
