Button Art is such a fun activity bringing out our creative side, artistic talent, and allowing us to use and improve our fine motor skills.
It was fun just sorting through buckets of buttons of various sizes, colors, and shapes to create our unique Mardi Gras fleur de lis design!

We encouraged each other, gave our opinions, and created our own button masterpiece! That hot cup of coffee and snack hit the spot! A wonderful afternoon gathered around the “art table” with friends!

Our talking Hot Potato on this cold day sure got us moving and laughing during Fun Fitness class!

Laughter serves as “medicine” for all of us physically, mentally, and socially! Laughing is a natural way to reduce stress, boost immunity, and improve relationships. Laughter is a quick stress reliever that can help to relax muscles for several minutes! Laughter truly is the best medicine!

We indulged in this caramelized, crunchy, buttery, salty treat - National Peanut Brittle Day!!
This classic candy has a bit of mystery. With no real evidence about how peanut brittle came to be a world of candy lover’s favorite, many theories point to several people who may have made the sweet and salty confectionary first. Some describe the recipe as a serendipitous mistake credited to a New England
woman in 1890 who was trying her hand at taffy and accidentally added baking soda instead of cream of tartar, resulting in “brittle”!

This famous sweet treat is timeless! Many of us have grown up enjoying peanut brittle, but it was also around when our grandparents were children and will be around for our great, great grandchildren to enjoy. No matter what the future holds, peanut brittle will always remain a constant in the lives of those who love a sweet and salty snack!

Hang on to your hats! National Hat Day is celebrated each year on January 15th. Don your favorite fedora, cap, cloche, derby, or sunhat. There are so many hats, fashions, and names we give them. Certainly, we could wear a hat a day and never get through them all.

Patrol officers, postal workers, restaurant servicers also wear their hats to various events. That date also commemorates the day in 1797 when the first top hat made its appearance in court.

Baseball players, chefs, Kentucky Derby fans, clergy, construction workers, farmers, cowboys, Dr. Seuss’s Cat in the Hat… hat wearers are endless! Today, hat etiquette is more relaxed, but they still serve as powerful symbols in fashion, culture, and professional life!
