I want to take a moment and introduce you to our newest PT at the ATI Physical Therapy Ypsilanti clinic - Tyler Martin PT, DPT! Tyler started with ATI as a travel PT in our Explore ATI ✈️ Launch program for new grads. He loved his experience so much that he decided to set down roots and stay on permanently. 🏡

Shout-out to our OT, Pam, a highly skilled Certified Hand Therapist (CHT). The path to become a CHT is rigorous and requires additional steps above and beyond just going to OT school and getting a job working as a hand therapist. Certified Hand Therapists have a deep understanding of hand and upper extremity anatomy, biomechanics, and the complex rehabilitation needs of hand injuries or conditions.

We are dedicated to getting our patients the very best outcomes and success with their therapy goals and overall quality of life. At ATI, we are making every life an active life!

To all physical therapists, PT patients and loved ones of therapists/patients: please take action now!

Medicare has been consistently compromising the ability of its recipients to access much-needed PT and OT for years. In fact, Medicare has decreased PT reimbursement by 10% in 5 years.

Meanwhile, research consistently shows that PT reduces healthcare costs, including from falls, surgeries, and dangerous opioid usage. We need to fix this immediately!

Have you ever heard of a "Super Tech"? Well, in the PT/OT space, they are truly superheroes, helping the therapists and the patients with hundreds of things, anticipating every need, and doing it all with high energy and a smile.

I won't lie, it's always sad to see one of our superheroes leave the clinic, but when they are going on to grand new opportunities and adventures, you also feel very excited for them.

Hannah, we are going to miss you, and all of us at ATI Physical Therapy Ypsilanti and Belleville wish you all of the success and happiness in the world!

Nick was accepted into the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Binghamton University in New York this spring. We are so proud of him and wanted to spotlight this incredible person:

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR JOB AT ATI Physical Therapy ?
My favorite thing has to be seeing my coworkers and the patients every day and looking forward to the conversations we all have while we’re here. You can’t enjoy your job if you don’t enjoy the people around you, and I'm thankful to have those types of people around me at ATI.

WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU'RE MOST PROUD OF IN YOUR ROLE?
One thing I'm very proud of is being able to grow into the role I have as an OSS. I didn’t know much about the role in the beginning but through great coworkers training me and seeing the in-clinic life every day I’ve grown to appreciate how effective an OSS can be to help a patient's session or day be that much better.

IF YOU COULD SWITCH YOUR JOB WITH ANYONE AT ATI, WITH WHOM WOULD YOU SWITCH?
If I could switch my job with anyone else at ATI it would probably be Brandon Thorson, one of the PT’s at the Ypsi Clinic. Since I've first gotten here he’s been nothing but helpful and supportive and treats his patients the same exact way. He really cares about his patients and shows that everyday, which is something I’m hoping carry on with me into my future PT career.
