Mental health awareness is more than a conversation, it’s how we create real change 🤍
When we understand mental health, we start to show up differently for ourselves and each other.
• It helps us recognize the early signs and seek support sooner
• It reduces stigma and creates space for honesty and empathy
• It reminds us that mental well-being is just as important as physical health
The more we talk about it, the less alone people feel.
Let’s keep the conversation going.

When people hear “mental health,” they often think it just means emotions, but it’s so much more than that.
It’s how you think, how you handle stress, how you understand yourself, and how you connect with others.
All of these pieces work together to shape your overall well-being.
Mental Health Awareness Month is about learning, understanding, and taking small steps toward better care.

Today is World Maternal Mental Health Day 💛
1 in 5 women experience mental health issues during or after pregnancy.
Struggling doesn’t make you a bad mom and feeling overwhelmed doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong.
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or not like yourself during pregnancy or postpartum, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to push through it on your own.
Support can look like having a space to talk, process, and feel understood.
If you’ve been thinking about reaching out, this might be your sign.

Healing isn’t linear, and it’s definitely not a race.
It’s okay to slow down.
It’s okay to rest.
It’s okay if some days feel harder than others.
What matters is that you keep showing up for yourself in whatever way you can.
You’re doing okay. 💛

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! A time to bring more attention to something that impacts all of us, whether we talk about it or not.
This week, we’ll be sharing insights, tips, and real conversations around mental health. What it looks like, why it matters, and how to take small steps toward feeling better.
If this is something you care about (or have been personally navigating), follow along.

Therapy isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about finally having a space to sort through everything that’s been weighing on you.
It can look like gaining clarity, feeling heard, making sense of your thoughts, or just having one place where you don’t have to hold it all together.
Growth isn’t linear, but over time, you start to understand yourself in a deeper, more honest way.
And that changes everything.
If you’ve been thinking about starting therapy, this might be your sign.

Ever wake up feeling like you barely slept…
even when you technically got enough hours?

Sometimes it isn’t about sleep.

It’s about **mental load.**

Your brain might still be processing things like:

• work stress
• unresolved conversations
• financial pressure
• constant notifications and news

Your body might be resting, but your mind never fully shuts off.

Over time that creates the “always tired” feeling many people walk around with daily. A lot of people assume they just need more discipline or better sleep habits.

But sometimes what actually helps is learning how to **slow down the stress cycle your brain is stuck in.** We work with people in the Detroit / Ypsilanti area who deal with this kind of mental fatigue all the time.

If this sounds familiar, you're always welcome to reach out privately. Sometimes understanding what's happening is the first step! http://www.prosperitycs.org/contact-us.html

• carrying more than you let on
