A few weeks ago, our amazing staff, kids, and families visited Domino’s Petting Farm for a day full of fun and connection! 🐐🐓🌾

We had a blast engaging with the animals, exploring the farm, and enjoying meaningful moments of comfort and joy together. Experiences like these help build confidence, spark curiosity, and strengthen bonds—for both kids and families alike. 💛

Support the autism community and our aquatic program through golfing! ⛳️🌊

We’re excited to announce our Golf Outing Fundraiser happening this fall:
📅 Date: Sunday, 9/7
🕢 Time: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
📍 Location: Lake Forest Golf Club (3110 W Ellsworth Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103)

Proceeds will go toward providing aquatic facilities, lessons, and education to make swimming safe and inclusive for individuals with autism—locally and globally.

A few weeks ago, our amazing staff and kids took a field trip to the Leslie Science & Nature Center!

We had a wonderful time connecting with nature, exploring the outdoors, and engaging with our community. 🌿🐾

Meet Elise Hiskens, our amazing Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellow! 🌟 Elise is part of the Arbor Groups and Arbor EATS programs, bringing her expertise and passion for helping children with autism. With a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from Eastern Michigan University, she loves partnering with families to support children’s communication skills.

Originally from Australia, Elise has taught and served as a chaplain in the US, Australia, and South Korea. Now, she calls Ypsilanti home. When she’s not working, you’ll find her enjoying the outdoors, sipping tea, or getting lost in a good book. 🍵📚🌳

🔑 Our Mission ASAP is dedicated to decreasing drowning risks for individuals with autism and fostering skills that build confidence, community, and lifelong pride. Through our innovative programs, we're turning water into a source of growth, inclusion, and joy.

• Life-Saving Skills: Teaching vital water safety to decrease drowning rates worldwide.
• Education: Creating a network of ASAP certified providers to deliver aquatic therapy and water safety classes for all skill levels across the lifespan.

🍋Meet Amanda 🍋

Amanda is the director of the Arbor EATS Feeding Program and the lead feeding specialist at our center! Amanda developed the Arbor EATS Feeding Program during her clinical fellowship as a speech language pathologist, hoping to provide support to individuals and families as they navigate feeding difficulties. Over the past three years, Amanda has helped grow the Arbor EATS Feeding Program to include three new feeding therapists. Amanda is passionate about providing feeding therapy education and training not only our staff but to our patient’s families, schools, doctors, and others in the community.

In her free time, Amanda enjoys spending time outside with her husband and two baby girls ☀️
