Congratulations to Lincoln's Lily Tabor!

Lily was recently celebrated at the Daughters of the American Revolution State Awards Day luncheon in Lansing.

The Daughters of the American Revolution is an organization dedicated to women's service, historic preservation, education, and patriotism. There are numerous DAR chapters around the nation, with 55 in Michigan alone. As the DAR Good Citizen of the Ypsilanti chapter, Lily was selected based on four qualities: dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. In the Fall, it was announced that Lily was the winner of the DAR Good Citizen of Ypsilanti Scholarship for an essay that she wrote. This allowed her to progress to the state level, where she was 1 of 5 Good Citizens selected to attend out of the 55 Good Citizens from the 55 Michigan chapters. Lily gathered with hundreds of DAR members, various award winners, veterans, educators, and community members across the state who have dedicated their entire lives to serving others. Here, she was given the DAR Good Citizen State Finalist award and additional scholarship money.
