My colleague, Elyse Davis, has started a support group for caregivers of special needs persons. In this profession we have specialties. This is one of hers. If you know someone who may benefit from this group please share this. If you are a caregiver I believe this group would be very beneficial.

I love humor, it’s just healthy. So, when a client says something that makes us both laugh tears I have to share. Today a 13 year old said “Debbie, with the awesome talks and the cool sand box!” I don’t think she really thought about it before it came out so we both laughed long and loud. Great session and day!!

One of the things I work on with clients, and in my life, is practicing mindfulness; being aware of what you are sensing and feeling in the moment. Today a client made me laugh with a mindful statement. She said “when you are worrying about tomorrow you p**s all over today!” This was a laugh that brought tears!🤣😂

The last week of October, Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This is real. Notice how the perpetrator tries to blame others for his actions or threat of actions, and tries to pull others, including kids on to their side. Survivors are so strong, that if only they believed that and felt it!🥲
