The new booth at Insight Wellness offers salt therapy and/or redlight therapy (can do either in a session or both in a session)!
Many people associate red-light therapy with pain relief and detoxification in the body. These are valid benefits of red-light therapy! But there is much more your body receives from red-light therapy, and this post is looking specifically at Near Infrared Light waves.
The red-light panels in our booth provide scientifically validated
wavelengths of Deep Red (630-660 nm) and Near Infrared
(830-850 nm) light. Red light is absorbed by the skin, boosting collagen production & aiding skin conditions. The NIR, or Near Infrared penetrates deeper, aiding muscle recovery, cellular renewal and joint pain.
Additional benefits include:
Skin Benefits: reduced wrinkles, facial lines, and skin roughness, as well as improved skin tone. NIR light also activates certain chemicals in the body's tissues that promote healthy mitochondria, causing tissue and wounds to heal more rapidly than on their own.
Energy Benefits: Most of the artificial light we are exposed to from our computers, smartphones, televisions, etc. emit blue light, which is not beneficial to our body. NIR light counteracts the harmful effects of blue light exposure and stimulates the body's mitochondria. This process can produce ATP (adenosine triphosphate3) which actually helps our cells gain more energy and rejuvenate themselves! There are a few molecules in human tissue susceptible to absorbing NIR light's wavelengths. Some of these molecules are connected to the body's energy production.
Pain Relief Benefits: Both red light and near infrared light therapy can assist in the management of chronic pain, including joint pain, muscle pain/soreness and fibromyalgia.
Sleep Benefits: NIR therapy helps to stimulate a healthy circadian rhythm as it generates more melatonin in the body. This circles back to the blue light notes above- as blue light has been found to impede our natural circadian rhythms, disrupting our healthy sleep patterns.
NIR therapy is becoming more widely known and widely available- including in our office space. What questions do you have for us? Leave a comment or send us a text (405-306-6340); we'd love to chat!
