💊 Not all pills are the same! Each type of pill is designed to work a little differently in your body. Here are the most common forms:

🔹 Tablets – Solid pills that can be swallowed whole, chewed, or dissolved. Some are coated to protect your stomach or to control how fast the medicine is released.

🔹 Capsules – Medicine enclosed in a hard or soft shell. They may hold powder, liquid, or tiny beads that release over time.

🔹 Caplets – A smaller, smoother version of a tablet. Easier to swallow but work the same way as tablets.

🔹 Softgels / Gel caps – Liquid medication inside a soft shell that dissolves quickly for faster absorption.

🔹 Chewables – Made to be chewed before swallowing. Great for kids or those who have trouble swallowing pills.

🔹 ODT (Orally Disintegrating Tablets) – Melt right on your tongue, no water needed. Helpful if swallowing is difficult or quick action is needed.

🔹 Extended or Controlled Release Tablets/Capsules – Special coatings that slowly release medicine over time, so you don’t have to take as many doses in a day.
