Child & Family Services of Yuma, Inc. is a nonprofit agency that has been providing services in Yuma county since June 1979. Originally, CFS Yuma began as a program that provided supervision, food and shelter. Our agency was formerly known as "Children's Village." Our program has now evolved to provide a wide continuum of outpatient services for children with behavioral health problems and are experiencing problems with coping skills and everyday living skills. Our Outpatient Clinical Services include: individual and family therapy, group therapy, family support, and direct support services in the community or in their home. Restoring family unity is our primary goal. We seek solution based approaches that focus on recovery for the child and family. By utilizing the Child Family Team process, we strive to improve the communication skills and find solutions to issues that are inhibiting the stability of the child, all significant family members, and other key individuals involved in the child’s life.
CFS coordinates care with many other agencies. We also utilize a sliding fee scale for those who do not qualify for any of our funding sources. Two years ago, Child and Family Services started Right Turn for Yuma Veterans (RTYV), a transitional housing program for veterans. This program provides homeless or at risk of being homeless veterans with a permanent transition from homelessness to financial and social independence by providing transitional housing to include room and board, assistance in obtaining financial independence, medical benefits and services, and re-engagement with community and family. Currently, Right Turn is able to house six veterans at a time and has serviced fifty-four total veterans since its opening. Please visit the site at: www.rightturnyumavets.com
