Goodmorning Community! I want to share this message with you below brought to you by AZDAC. Power is a necessity, not a privilege, No one should be left in the dark, advocate for uninterrupted power for people with disabilities!

From AZDAC and Arizona Statewide Independent Living Council
Power Shut-Offs in Arizona: A Crisis for People with Disabilities

The Arizona Disabilities Advocacy Coalition (AZDAC) has released a powerful video clip that underscores the devastating impact of statewide power shut-offs, especially on people with disabilities. This urgent issue touches every corner of our community but hits the most vulnerable the hardest.

In Arizona’s extreme desert heat, the loss of electricity isn’t just inconvenient, it can be life-threatening. For individuals who depend on breathing machines, oxygen concentrators, and other medical devices, power shut-offs can mean the difference between life and death.

This isn’t a hypothetical concern; it’s a preventable public health emergency in the making. https://vimeo.com/1063955503/8318466bd3?share=copy

**What You Can Do**

· Watch and share the video widely

· Support legislation that prevents shut-offs for medically vulnerable households

· Call on utility companies and the Arizona Corporation Commission to expand moratoriums during summer and increase medical baseline protections

· Partner with disability rights and energy justice groups to amplify this message
