Services Maximizing Independent Living And Empowerment - SMILE “Empowering Individuals with Disabilities to Maximize Independence.” We Serve Yuma and La Paz Counties

SMILE is a private not for profit 501 c3 Center for Independent Living. The term "center for independent living" means a consumer‑controlled, community‑based, cross‑disability, nonresidential private nonprofit agency that is designed and operated within a local community by individuals with disabilities and provides an array of independent living services. SMILE provides services in Information and Referral, Advocacy, Peer Support, Life Skills, and Transition. Other services are provided and will vary depending on funding. Volunteer

SMILE has a W3431 mobility scooter available for donation.
Our goal is to ensure this scooter goes directly to an individual in Yuma or La Paz Counties whose independence and daily mobility will truly benefit from it.
Eligibility requirements
• The recipient must be an individual with a disability
• The recipient must be the person who will personally use the scooter
• The recipient must have a demonstrated need for mobility assistance
• The recipient must be willing to meet with SMILE prior to the donation
If you or someone you know in Yuma or La Paz Counties meets these requirements and could benefit from this mobility scooter, please contact SMILE directly for next steps.
