My office welcomes Zanesville native Samantha Kanavel CNP-FNP. Samantha Kanavel started her nursing career as a Registered Nurse (RN) in 2011 in Critical Care and furthered her education at Ohio University to become a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2016. She is AANP board certified and has experience in Family Practice, Pediatrics, & Urgent Care. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children in the outdoors. She enjoys golfing, fishing, camping, gardening and cooking. The majority of her time has been spent serving rural communities and she prefers a more personal provider- patient experience.

With the snowstorm coming this weekend I will check how the roads are Monday AM. For my office, if it’s a level 2 or worse around 6am we will close for the day. I will post something Monday early AM to let patients know my clinic hours that day Stay safe and warm this weekend.

Wishing everyone a safe and Happy Thanksgiving. I will be out of the office until next Monday. My office is opened today with my NP if need an acute visit, but will fully close the rest of this week.

Office closed today. We will be back Monday normal hours. If any acute issues you can see if another primecare provider can see you or you can go to local UC or ER.

Starting this month my clinic will no longer be doing any medication refills after hours, on weekends or holidays. With MyChart it’s very easy to request a medicine refill if needed. We usually respond to all medicne refill requests within 24 hours, but ask all patients to send in at least 3-4 business days to a week early in case my office is closed due to myself or my NP out of the office.

Thanks to my entire staff for all their hard work they do everyday. Their hard work and dedication increases patient care in my practice. With Labor Day approaching office hours are changed. My office will be closed Fri Aug 29th and Mon Sept 1st so my workers can enjoy a long weekend with their families. Normal office hours resume Tues Sept 2nd. Happy Labor Day!

Influenza is being spread rapidly the last few weeks. It’s very contagious and if you have any of the symptoms below seek medical treatment for proper testing and treatment. If recovering from the flu and getting a chest cold call your doctor for an appointment for the flu can lead to pneumonia. Washing your hands is always one of the best ways to help prevent catching an illness.

People who have flu often feel some or all of these signs and symptoms:
fever* or feeling feverish/chills.
cough.
sore throat.
runny or stuffy nose.
muscle or body aches.
headaches.
fatigue (tiredness)
some people may have vomiting and diarrhea, though this is more common in children than adults.

Due to the road conditions currently from the recent storm my office will be closed this AM. My office will open at 1PM today. This includes my Total Care Ortho-Walk in clinic as well.
