Exciting yoga things upcoming for summer 🏄🏻‍♀️

•Kids Yoga Camp with runs June 1-4th for ages 4-11, 9:00-11:00am. Days are themed, so you can attend the entire week or drop-in on certain days! Please register ahead for all classes.

•Meditation with is scheduled weekly for the month of June 😍 This one-hour mindfulness meditation is broken into four 15-minute segments. She will start with a partially-guided meditation to connect breath and body, followed by an indoor walking meditation. You’ll wrap up with a lesson and a sharing circle to discuss what was discovered during the practice.

•Simmer and Soak on Thursday mornings is BACK for the summer! This has always been a studio favorite, and is the perfect person to bring this morning back to life ❤️‍🔥 It’s a heated mixture of vinyasa flow and yin poses to make for an experience that’s both challenging and refreshing/relaxing. It’s the perfect balance of yang & yin.

Kid’s Yoga Camp is back and will be here before you know it!!

We are excited to offer Kids Yoga Camp again this summer with Rachel Griffith! Camp is open to children ages 4-11 years old. It runs June 1-June 4 from 9:00am- 11:00am daily. Each day students will practice yoga, create a craft, play games, and make a snack related to the daily theme.

Registration is $125 per student for the whole week. If you can’t attend the whole week, we have a drop in option for $30 per day. If your child has a food allergy please let us know when you register.

You can use the Momence app or our website to register and choose either a drop-in option or the full week!

Happy Mother’s Day!! 🙏🏼🤍

A special note that we have a new meditation instructor offering some pop-up classes this month and her first session is tomorrow~ Monday~ at 9:30am! We’re very excited to introduce Janelle Fila to our studio, and to provide probably the most profound, rewarding, challenging and peaceful aspect of this practice.

This class is open to people of all faiths and beliefs, whether you have meditated before or are trying it for the first time. You are welcome to bring your own yoga mat or cushion. Blocks, bolsters, and blankets will be provided, as we will be sitting for a majority of the class. Please let us know if you would prefer a folding chair so that can also be provided.

Janelle also teaches English to college and homeschooled students. She is currently completing her 100-hour Meditation Teacher Training!

In our last post we shared that the week of the 18th-24th will include drawings, celebration and a couple of special pop-up classes to celebrate 9 Years of Grass Roots Studio!

~On Thursday the 23rd, will teach a Hot Power Vinyasa at 9:30am, and all participants will have the option to have a cold & fresh açaí bowl made by waiting on them after class! Anyone can be included in this pickup at 10:45am, even if you can’t attend class! So especially nice for any downtown business people too. We will share the dates and purchase link with you for the bowls a little closer to time!

*Remote Personal Training*

Dakota has had a full training schedule for a while, but he’s recently opened up a new way to work together!

It starts with a phone call to discuss goals, preferences, lifestyle and health history!

For $100 Dakota creates a month-long program for you to follow designed specifically for you and your goals. It might look like two lifts per week and a circuit. It could look like three lifts per week, or whatever best meets your needs. These could be workouts for the gym, or for equipment you have at home. You also receive videos for each exercise. All of this information will be located in your own app where you can track progress each week.

In addition to the monthly programming, there’s also an option to schedule an in-person session once per month (if your schedules can align) for greater accountability, form checks and motivation to keep getting stronger!

There’s nothing that replaces a professionally designed program, and the accountability and guidance from an experienced trainer. Tomorrow’s April 1st and the perfect time to get started on a healthier more intentional path.

POWER RESTORE
Sunday, 1/18, 9:00-10:30am

To find balance on the inside and the outside, we need REST just as much as we need MOVEMENT. Drawing upon 5 Element Theory and the principles of interval training, this heart themed class creatively intertwines a strong vinyasa practice with deeply restorative modalities to increase heart rate variability, optimize vagal tone and encourage homeostasis within the body.

It allows the body to adeptly move between the sympathetic (fight or flight) and parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous system in one comprehensive practice, and it facilitates our deep human potential for self-regulation and healing. It’s how we foster our resilience - physically, mentally, and emotionally.

MYOFASCIAL YIN
Tuesday, 1/20, 5:45-7pm

In this class, we’ll combine myofascial release + yin yoga to reduce tension, improve mobility, and support recovery. Using therapy balls and targeted techniques, you’ll apply sustained pressure to help soften fascial restrictions, reduce chronic pain, ease muscular guarding, and restore healthier range of motion. We’ll then transition into longer-held, prop-supported yin shapes to downshift the nervous system, deepen breathing, and integrate the benefits throughout the whole body.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE~ January 2nd!

Our program is a mixture of in-person experiences at 4th and Market in Downtown Zanesville, Ohio, live calls on Zoom and self-guided recorded modules.

This training prepares people to teach full-length asana, or mat-focused, classes, but it’s also a beautiful supplemental training for anyone already working in the healthcare or wellness industry. Many people such as school teachers, coaches, nurses, counselors/social workers, massage therapists, and physical therapists have found great value in incorporating the teachings from this training into their work. There are no pre-requisites to sign up for this training, but we do recommend you attend some studio classes/virtual sessions prior to the training to prepare your body and mind. Some of our students desire to teach following the training, and some simply want to deepen their own personal practice and understanding of Yoga. A 200-Hour training is one of the most beautiful and transformational investments you can make on yourself, it’s truly life-changing.
