Extreme Heat Advisory coming up!! Read for tips to help your little ones in extreme heat conditions. This coming week we could see increased visits for asthma and allergies. Kids with a history of respiratory problems should be careful as the heat rises!

This Saturday, June 21st, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., a lemonade stand will be set up at 519 Front Street in Philo, Ohio, with all proceeds going toward a diabetic alert dog for 8-year-old Jace Walton.

Jace has been living with Type 1 Diabetes for nearly four years. Recently, his condition has become more complex, with low blood sugar episodes that his monitor doesn’t always detect in time. Just last week, Jace was admitted to Children’s ICU due to a severe episode — a frightening reminder of how unpredictable and dangerous this disease can be.

Now, his family is seeking the community’s help to raise $15,000 for a specially trained diabetic alert dog. These service dogs are capable of detecting dangerous blood sugar changes before they become critical, often alerting faster than technology.

Jace’s dog will be trained by Brian McCoy of Genius Dogs in Lancaster, Ohio, through a 5–7 month program that includes public access certification, travel and follow-up support, and all necessary equipment.
