Our residents are getting in the festive, fall mood by painting some decorations for their doors. Our favorite laundry associate, Barbie, also brought mini pumpkins in for the residents to paint. Thank you to Barbie for sharing your pumpkins with us! 🍁🎃

Yesterday, our residents got a special visit from Rainey the horse, courtesy of Absolute Home Health & Hospice. Rainey is a 17 year old pony who visits local nursing homes when he’s not out in the pasture. Our residents were so excited to see him, and some reminisced about their own horses. After visiting with Rainey, we enjoyed some ants on a log for National Ants on a Log Day. Thank you to the Absolute team for making the residents’ day!

This week, our residents got to enjoy two of their favorite things, ice cream and puppies! Our favorite mini Goldendoodle, Chase, came to visit and gave out lots of puppy kisses. They then enjoyed some ice cream sundaes. What a perfect day!

On Friday, our residents were invited to our neighboring facility, Primrose Retirement Community, for their summer bash! Our residents got a kick out of dunking the Primrose team in the dunk tank. We played water balloon toss, listened to music, enjoyed slip and slide, snow cones, and some residents even did karaoke. A big thank you to Primrose Retirement Community for inviting our residents and giving them a fun-filled afternoon! 💙☀️

Our residents went “quackers” over our special guests this week: Caramel, Drake, and Dawn! These three adorable ducks were immediately swarmed with love by the residents and staff. We learned about how much they’ll grow over the next few weeks and loved watching them chase the ants on the patio and splash in the water. What a joy it was to share such a fun and heartwarming visit with our feathered friends! 🦆

Last week, some of our residents ventured out to our local art museum. They enjoyed a private tour of the building and learned about different types of paintings and pottery. They even got to see a whole city made of Legos! They really enjoyed seeing a variety of artwork and even asked if we could go back soon.

Meet our July Employee of the Month… Amber!

Amber Miller is our receptionist and also helps out in activities. During her 2 years as a part of our team, Amber has enjoyed building relationships with the residents and watching them succeed. Her motivation to come to work every day is being able to be a part of a great team and work environment. When asked what advice she would give to new employees joining the team, Amber stated, “Smile. You never know if someone’s having a rough day. Your smile could change someone’s day.

Amber has a dog and a cat. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephew, reading, and enjoying the outdoors. A fun fact about Amber is that her favorite food is Mexican!

We are so thankful to have Amber as a part of our team, and we can’t wait to see what her future has in store for her. Congratulations, Amber! 💙
