George H. Williams, 85 of Zanesville, died 1:55 AM, Sunday, July 13, 2025, at The Oaks at Bethesda, surrounded by his family. He was born Wednesday, March 20, 1940, in Zanesville, the son of Chester Williams, Sr. and Henrietta (Dalton) Williams, the youngest of ten children. He married Darlene (Kennedy) Williams on Tuesday, November 21, 1961, and was a very active member of Wings of Hope Tabernacle.

George was employed with Columbia Cement and Laborers International Union # 423. He loved the outdoors, especially his back porch and feeding the birds. He enjoyed going to the county fairs, the harness races, and working with the horses. George was a loving and caring family man who cherished the time he spent with his family, his brothers and sisters and his love and commitment to the Zanesville community.

George is survived by his wife, Darlene; three children, Carmen (Kevin) Tate of Whitehall, Diane Mayle of Belpre and Scott Williams of Zanesville; four grandchildren, Jeremy Tate, Bryant Tate, Chloe Williams and Brody Williams; one great grandson, Ian Tate; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Darwin Mayle, Jr.; nine siblings, Roy Williams, Earl Williams, Russell Williams, Chester “Sonny” Williams, Jr., Henry Williams, James Williams, Helen Adams, Edna Portis and Dorothy Tabler.

Friends may call 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Wings of Hope Tabernacle, 709 Lee Street, Zanesville with Rev. James Workmen officiating. Visitation will also be held from 12 Noon to time of service on Thursday. Burial will be 12 noon, Saturday, July 19, 2025, in Mt. Hermon Cemetery. October 18, 1958 - July 10, 2025

With heavy hearts, the family of George Farid Riachy (Ritchey), 66, of Zanesville, Ohio, announces his peaceful passing to eternal life on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at The Ohio State Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital.

George was born on October 18, 1958, in Kaa-el-Rim, Zahle, Lebanon, to Farid K. Riachy and Sit-El-Ekhwi E. (Alam) Riachy. On August 13, 1987, he married Mona L. (Saliba) Riachy, and together they built a loving home, raising four sons with care and devotion. George held a deep and abiding love for his homeland, cherishing the values and traditions of Lebanon, which he proudly carried with him and lovingly passed on to his children.

A talented and hardworking multi-skilled tradesman, George was known for his ability to repair, build, and improve nearly anything. He applied his craftsmanship with precision and passion. Consistently motivated by a desire to resolve issues and assist others, George’s work reflected his thoughtfulness and unwavering commitment to excellence. He was a faithful member of both Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church and St. Nicholas Catholic Church, where his spirituality was both nurtured and strengthened.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mona; his four sons: Farid, Elie, Ramy, and George, all of Zanesville; his cherished mother, Sit-El-Ekhwi Riachy of Zanesville; two brothers, Nadim (Lisa) Ritchey and Wadih (Rose) Riashi, both of Zanesville; and three sisters: Zahia (George) Kfoury of Kaa-el-Rim; Lyla (David) Merz of Columbus; and Ferial (Matthew) Piroch of Butler, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and extended family both locally and overseas.

In addition to his father, George was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, David Merz Jr., as well as several beloved aunts and uncles.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 935 East Main Street, Zanesville, Ohio, where the Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Stephen Ondrey as celebrant, followed by burial at Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Tammie S. Yester, 63 of Zanesville, died 5:45 AM, Thursday, July 3, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born Friday, September 29, 1961, in Zanesville, the daughter of the late William M. Kelso, Sr. and Marcella F. (Willey) Kelso, and married Don Yester Sr. on Sunday, February 16, 1986.

Tammie was employed with Essex Wire and Lear Corporation for many years and was the bartender for the Moose Lodge. She loved cooking, camping, fishing, and planning the best parties. But most of all, Tammie was a loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, who always looked after her family and cherished the time she spent with them.

Tammie is survived by her husband, Don Yester Sr.; four children, Don "DJ" (Renee) Yester Jr, Amanda (Shawn) Noll, Michelle (Steven) Georgecopoulos, and Natasha (Greg) Kieffer; ten grandchildren; her two special four-legged family members, Sherlock, and Willow; one brother, William “Bill” (Joyce) Kelso, Jr.; two aunts, Barb Acheson, and Billie Willey; one uncle, Gene Swingle, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Tammie was preceded in death by one brother, Jeff Kelso; one sister, Sherrie Kelso; two sisters-in-law, Andrea Dunn and JoAnn Lytton, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ramona "Mona" M. Congrove, 95 of Zanesville, died 4:01 PM, Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Willow Haven Care Center in Zanesville. She was born Monday, October 21, 1929, in Reedsville, the daughter of Eugene "Gene" F. Wilson and Nellie E. (Kibble) Wilson, and married Charles "Butch" Eugene Congrove on Tuesday, December 31, 1946.

Mona was a homemaker, a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed collecting Barbie Dolls, Indian Artifacts & Longaberger Baskets.

Mona is survived by two daughters, Joyce (Tom) Williams of Coshocton and Denise "Dee" (Scott) Gee of Zanesville; six grandchildren, Jason McNerney, Jeremy (Misty) McNerney, Jessica (Rob) Messer, Michael (Jennifer) Palmer, Matthew (Mandy) Palmer and Joshua Williams; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mona was preceded in death by her husband, Butch Congrove who died August 28, 1994, and one sister and brother-in-law, Peggy & Robert Sams.

Deborah “Debbie” Jean Kunko, age 71, of Zanesville, passed away unexpectedly June 25, 2025, at her home. She was born May 4, 1954, in Cambridge, England, a daughter of Cora Malloy and the late Robert Malloy. After coming to the United States when her father finished his time in the Air Force, Debbie grew up in Cresson, Pennsylvania. She married her high school sweetheart, and their life took them to three different states over the years, spending the last 40 years of her life in Ohio.
In addition to the many years as a homemaker taking care of her children, Debbie worked for more than twenty years as a pharmacy technician for CVS Pharmacy. She was very involved in her children’s lives, and took on the role of ‘second mom’ to many of her kid’s friends. She was the mom always on the sidelines, the one who opened her home to anyone, or the doing random things to make special moments for her kids. In her retirement she enjoyed life doing things like cardmaking, shopping, watching movies with a huge bucket of popcorn, playing with the dog, going to get ice cream, laughing and having fun with her family. She always said being “Gramma” to her granddaughters was her absolute pride and joy.
Debbie is survived and missed deeply by her husband of almost 48 years, Rick Kunko, daughters Allison (Scott) Wenger of Galloway, OH, Stephanie (Mitch) Fisher of Franklin, OH, son Andrew (fiancé Stephanie) Kunko of Bethel Park, PA, granddaughters Rebecca & Megan Wenger of Galloway, OH, mother Cora Malloy of Lexington, NC, brother Doug (Jan) Malloy of Lexington, NC, sisters-in-law Christine (Alan) Jordanoff of Pittsburgh, PA, Elaine Kunko of Cincinnati, OH, Jackie Malloy of Myrtle Beach, SC and five nieces and nephews along with their children.
Debbie is preceded in death by her father, Robert Malloy, brother Bobby Malloy, in-laws Anthony & Susan Kunko and brother-in-law Nick Jordanoff.
A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 6-8 pm at Matthew Decort Funeral Home in Portage, PA. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church in Portage at 10 am on Thursday, July 3, with burial immediately following at Forest Hills Cemetery in Johnstown, PA. Thomas Warren “Tom” Durant, 83, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully at 6:15 AM, Thursday, June 26, 2025, at his home. Tom was born October 6, 1941, in Zanesville, the son of Raymond and Emma (Schwallie) Durant. Tom is survived by his wife of over 55 years, Dottie (Schultheis) Durant; two beloved daughters, Heidi (Rich) McCoy of Westerville and Abby (Chris) Zimmerman of Worthington; four wonderful grandchildren, Madeline and Mia McCoy and Zachary and Zade Zimmerman; one brother, Bill Durant; one sister-in-law, Polly Russo; a brother-in-law, Stan Schultheis and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Tom was a graduate of Bishop Rosecrans High School and served his country as a member of the Army National Guard. He was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus # 505, and served on the school board of St. Nicholas School. He was employed with Young GMC for 30 years and retired from Park National Bank following over 25 years of service.

Tom had a love for basketball, playing himself into his mid-50’s, and watching his daughters play at Bishop Rosecrans. He never missed a sporting or school event for his girls, and up until recently for his grandchildren. He was an avid golfer, from the courses of the Zanesville Country Club and Vanderbilt Country Club in Naples, FL, to the many courses he and his friends played during family vacations.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Paul and Florence (Milstead) Schultheis; one sister, Betty (Durant) McGinnis; brothers-in-law, Tom McGinnis, Frank Russo and Kenny Schultheis; sisters-in-law, Nancy Durant, Jenny Schultheis and Sister Mary Lina Schultheis, and one great niece, Julie (Schultheis) McGlade.

Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, Monday, June 30, 2025, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where a Christian Vigil will follow at 6:45 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 925 East Main Street, Zanesville, with Fr. Stephen Ondrey as celebrant. Dorothy L. Saliba, 100 of North Ridgeville, formerly of Zanesville and Columbus, died, Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at home surround by her loving family. She was born Friday, September 19, 1924, in Zanesville, the daughter of George Joseph and Pansy H. (Saliba) Joseph. She married John N. Saliba on Tuesday, August 2, 1960 in Lebanon and was a former member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Zanesville and Christ the King Catholic Church in Columbus.

She was a graduate of St. Nicholas High School, the Good Samaritan School of Nursing, and continued her nursing career with Good Samaritan Hospital, Lazarus Department Store, Medical Clinic, and retired from St. Anthony’s Hospital.

Dorothy enjoyed slot machine gambling and loved the horse races. She was an avid reader of murder mysteries, tabloid news, and she loved to crochet. She was a loving and caring wife, sister and aunt.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of over 65 years, John Saliba; several nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews, including family in the United States, Canada, France and Lebanon.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Joseph, Bobby Joseph and Jimmy Joseph and one sister, Marie Habib.

The family will receive family and friends from 10:30 AM to 12 Noon, Friday, June 13, 2025, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 955 East Main Street, Zanesville, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon with Fr. Brian Beal as celebrant. Dorothy will be laid to rest in the family plots at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
