Did you know your tongue should rest at the roof of your mouth in light suction all the time you’re not using it? 🤔👅 This simple habit can improve your breathing and reduce neck tension! Try it: place your tongue from front to back and spread it out. Can you breathe easy? 🌬️✨ If it feels tight, it might be time to address some muscle issues. Let me know if this resonates with you—I know people who can help! 💪👩‍⚕️

Struggling with snoring, mouth breathing, or feeling like you’re working way too hard to breathe at night? 😮‍💨 Your body might be recruiting extra “backup” muscles just to get air in — and that can lead to upper airway resistance or even obstructive sleep apnea. 😴

In this video, we break down how collapsed nasal valves, a low tongue, and neck tension can make nighttime breathing tougher — and why a flatter diaphragm makes it harder to get a full, easy breath. The big question: if your airway worked more efficiently, Could you stop snoring, sleep more restfully, lower your CPAP settings… or maybe not need one at all? 🤔💨

Ever feel like your neck and shoulders are doing all the heavy lifting when you breathe? 😣💨 What if your diaphragm is stuck in “flattened” mode and your posture is making it worse?

In this video, we break down how deep exhalation can reset your diaphragm into a strong dome 🛡️, engage your true core 💪, and let your upper chest expand naturally—so the air goes where it’s supposed to without your neck and pecs yanking you forward. Bye-bye shoulder squeeze and neck tension! 👋🦴

If you’ve tried “posture” exercises that pull you back but still feel tight, this might be your missing link. Watch to learn a simple breath-and-posture shift that can reduce shoulder impingement and rotator cuff irritation while making breathing feel easier. 🌬️✨

Discover how your diaphragm’s movement shapes more than just your breath—it can stack your posture and open your chest when it works like a true dome. But when the diaphragm flattens, the muscle pulls sideways, ribs will widen, low backs will tighten, and even reflux can flare as the lower esophagus gets tugged open. Simple diaphragm repositioning and postural awareness exercises could calm reflux and transform your alignment from the inside out.

Are your “good posture” exercises secretly sabotaging your breath and straining your neck and shoulders? In this video, I break down how forcing shoulder squeeze and head retraction can flatten your diaphragm and lock the lower ribs forward—leading to neck tension, shoulder impingement, and inefficient breathing.

Instead, learn how a deep exhale can restore the diaphragm’s dome, let your deepest core support you, and allow the upper chest to expand naturally—so air fills your lungs without your neck and pecs doing all the work.

We’ve been taught to think posture is something you do.

Stand up straight.
Pull your shoulders back.
Engage your core.

But the body doesn’t work that way.

Posture is a reflection of how your body is organized — shaped by breathing, airway, muscle tone, and long-term adaptations.

What you’re seeing isn’t just a “look” or a physique.

It’s the result of a system that is working efficiently.

At SIMIO Physical Therapy, we don’t try to force posture.

We help the body reorganize so better posture becomes the natural outcome.

That’s a very different approach.

What have you been told to do to “fix” your posture?

03/10/2026

Posture isn’t just “good” or “bad”—it’s personal. In this video, I share my own journey as a physical therapist who couldn’t fix a forward head posture with the usual exercises… because the root cause was my airway🫁. From childhood challenges with nasal breathing, tongue mobility, and oral development to discovering why traditional posture drills fell short, this is a deeper look at how our stories shape how we move.🏋️‍♀️

Curious if your posture has more to do with breathing🫁, jaw😬, or airway🌬️ than your phone📱? Watch now, drop your questions in the comments, and follow for more insights that go beyond T’s, Y’s, and chin tucks. Want to learn more or work with me? What if your posture isn’t the problem…

What if your airway is?

When the airway isn’t centered, the body adapts.

The head shifts.
The ribs rotate.
The pelvis compensates.

And over time, that “adaptation” becomes your normal.

At SIMIO Physical Therapy, we look at how centering the airway changes the way the entire system organizes itself.

Because when breathing improves, posture often follows.

Have you ever thought about how your airway affects your body?

Comment “AIRWAY” if this is new to you.

Ever wonder how your body stays balanced from head to toe? 🏃‍♀️

Discover how integrative postural therapy views your body as three coordinated spheres, each moving in all three planes to keep you centered and balanced. From the tongue and breathing diaphragm to the pelvic floor and foot arches, learn how your body’s “domes” couple movement and stability. See how sensing the ground, adjusting your chest and breath, and engaging vision and vestibular systems all align to perfectly center your airway.

Want better posture, less pain, and easier movement? Watch the video, ask questions in the comments, and visit my website to learn how integrative postural therapy can help you move better. Follow for more tips on bringing your body back into balance from the inside out.

When the body loses efficiency, it doesn’t fail — it compensates... it copes.

Over time, those compensations become our “normal" and we stop asking why. When enough humans look like the new "normal," we start to look outside of ourselves for things like "tech neck" to blame, but this phenomenon is not as new as tech is.

Tight forward necks.
Rounded shoulders.
Hip and back tension.
Jaw strain.
Vertical breathing.
Poor sleep.

The goal isn’t to force better posture.
It’s to restore better organization.

That’s the lens we use at SIMIO.

Follow along as we continue breaking this down.
