We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Teagan Elise Villarreal! Born to Danielle and Troy Villarreal on January 1, 2026, at 4:14 am at Corewell Health Zeeland Hospital, Teagan made an early entrance, as she was originally expected on January 7th. She weighed in at 7lbs and measured 21 inches long. Both Teagan and her mom are doing great. Welcome to the world, little Teagan!

Heidi and Chris from the CATCH program joined a Trunk or Treat event at Adams Elementary School earlier this week!

Decorated like a mini farmers market, they shared stuffed fruit and veggie keychains, cards with healthy treat recipes and these useful tips for Halloween trick-or-treaters. 🎃 👇

👻 Don't forget about all the spooky fun beyond treats! Creative costumes, pumpkin carving, Halloween dance parties and more.
🍬 When you come home from trick-or-treating, don't eat it all at once! Set a limit of an appropriate amount per day.
😋 Parents and caregivers - remember to be a good role model and practice mindful eating, too.

"I will be forever grateful for the care and support they provided during one of the most challenging and traumatic time of my life."

2 years ago, Brenna Wedeven of Holland was diagnosed with a life-threatening infection: necrotizing fasiitis.

She arrived in the emergency room at Zeeland Hospital before being transferred to Butterworth in Grand Rapids for multiple surgeries and recovery in the critical care unit.

"Without the team I had I wouldn’t be here today and I couldn’t thank them enough for saving my life. From the emergency surgeons to the nurses to infectious disease."

As a Corewell Health pediatrician serving patients in Hudsonville, Dr. Peirce wants parents to feel confident, supported and informed every step of the way.

This past Wednesday, our community health team members hosted one final kids' activity at the Holland Farmers Market. Kids were invited to use all five senses when cooking and tasting new foods.

We had several fruits and veggies to choose from: pluots (apricot/plum hybrid), peppers, sugar snap peas, and dried mangos. Participants marked a check ✅ for their favorites.

Thank you to our Corewell Health teams for hosting fun and educational activities like this one all throughout the summer!
