Happy holidays from our whole crew! We had a great Christmas lunch at work then headed to our favorite local hang, for ☕️, pastries, and a sgraffito class where we all carved designs into custom clay cups. It was a blast. 🎄

Brittle is worse than Bulky.

An estimate of almost 80% of Americans over 50 in diagnosed with osteoporosis are women.

I’m feeling very passionate about this subject, especially after starting the holiday season, and have been questioned about what a certain older female could do about her “hump”.

Well, some say that the skinny pandemic of the 90s will come back, but I think our generations (millennials and Gen Z) can fight back harder to say being strong is so beneficial. Being physically capable and taking up space as a woman is incredibly beneficial for a long-term health and longevity.

I love lifting. And it was scary at first to be in the gym. But years of being there, taking up space by the weight rack, has made me more confident. I can definitely say it didn’t come overnight. It takes some grit, some time, some effort, and a desire to learn.

I asked the same family member if it was important for her to be skinny to fit into clothes or if it was more important to build to pull herself off the toilet in 20 years at the age of 80.

Lift well, live well.

🩸 You’ve seen the purple circles on Olympic swimmers and elite bodybuilders.

For years, skeptics called it a placebo. They said it was just a bruise.

But a massive new 2024-2025 systematic review just silenced the doubters.

Researchers looked at randomized controlled trials regarding chronic neck and back pain.

The results weren't just "okay." They were significant.

The study found that cupping therapy (both wet and dry forms) drastically reduced pain intensity compared to no treatment.

But here is the most fascinating part of the data. 📉

It wasn't just about feeling "less" pain.

The therapy significantly improved the patients' "Pain Pressure Threshold."

What does that mean for you?

If you have chronic back pain, you know that sometimes even a light touch or a shirt brushing against your skin can hurt.

That is your nervous system being hypersensitive.

This review found that cupping actually desensitizes that area, allowing you to tolerate physical touch and movement again without flinching.

It literally resets how your body perceives pressure in painful zones.

Whether it’s the decompression of the fascia or the rush of new blood flow, the mechanism is working.

If you’ve been on the fence about looking like a pepperoni pizza for a few days, it might finally be time to book the appointment.

The relief seems to be well worth the marks.

Stop drinking diet soda!

Stop drinking diet soda!

New long-term research indicates that consuming just one artificially sweetened soda daily increases the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 38%, a significantly higher risk than the 23% associated with regular sugary drinks.

Scientists suggest that artificial sweeteners like aspartame and sucralose may disrupt the gut microbiome and interfere with the body's insulin and glucose regulation.

This extensive 14-year study involving over 36,000 individuals concludes that "diet" and "zero" sodas are not a harmless alternative, prompting experts to recommend moderation or complete avoidance for better long-term health.

A landmark study, published in Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience, captured the first-ever recording of a dying human brain.

The subject was an 87‑year‑old man who died of a heart attack while undergoing EEG monitoring for epilepsy.

Researchers recorded about 900 seconds of brain activity surrounding his death, including the 30 seconds before and after his heart stopped.

In that window, they found changes in gamma, as well as delta, theta, alpha, and beta oscillations—brain wave patterns linked to memory recall, dreaming, and meditation.

These suggest a “last recall” of life events—what people often describe as life “flashing before your eyes”.

Additional reporting in 2025 reaffirmed these findings, noting their potential implications for our definition of death and even considerations like organ donation timing.

After decades of research, scientists have finally identified a specific gut bacterium linked to multiple sclerosis (MS). The microbe appears to trigger autoimmune responses in genetically susceptible individuals, attacking the nervous system.

This breakthrough opens the door for new therapies and early diagnostics. By altering gut microbiota or using targeted antibiotics, doctors could potentially prevent or halt MS before symptoms progress.

The gut-brain connection continues to reveal powerful medical insights.

Si Shen Cong, a group of points that’s great for headache, memory loss, dizziness, and epilepsy. 🧠 Don’t let it give you the heebie jeebies, the scalp is painless to needle, and it’s so effective.
Believe it or not, I’ve had amazing success with an epileptic patient that modern medicine gave up on. She’s happily had a baby since her seizures have remitted, something that no one thought was possible. Acupuncture is amazing, my friends.

Watch the traction on the babies head in this birth. I actually gasped for a moment when I saw how much the baby’s neck tractioned. This is why we adjust babies post birth. Pediatric adjustments are only gentle fingertip pressure, and gentle massage like movements.
