We’re hoping for the best for our patients, neighbors and friends. Our surgery center was not damaged. Our office is surrounded by water but we believe we will be open Monday.

Giving sight to this young man sight was the thrill of the summer! A few months ago his visual world and interactions visually were trapping his mind in a much smaller world.

We were stunned to see him walk up and take Dr. Mahootchi's picture at his last visit! Every step of the process, (not just the surgery), anesthesia and every team member at our clinic and Same Day Surgery Center had to be planned with everyone rehearsing their roles and anticipating challenges. It all went smoothly.

His amazing parents were an inspiration to meet. The brighter world is obvious in his expressions!

Dr. Mahootchi was elected Vice President of the Florida Society of Ophthalmology this month at the Masters in Ophthalmology 2024 meeting. He also gave a lecture comparing the new generation of lens implants for cataract surgery!

Not all droopy upper lids are from extra skin. Sometimes the muscle that elevates the upper lid becomes stretched and weak. This is called ptosis. The makes the lid edge, where the lashes are, sit much lower. Our patient's happy face is brightened by her much more open eyelids after her surgery with Dr. Mahootchi.
