Over the course of more than 20 years I've been blessed to provide quality family counseling and mental health services to people in the Yakima Valley. Starting out, I was a therapist providing in-home services to families with children who were at risk of being placed in foster care, or leaving foster care and being reunited with their parents. After 5 years gaining experience in this area, I moved to community mental health. Beginning in 2004, my experience expanded to working not only with families at risk, but with children and adults experiencing a variety of emotional and behavioral issues. This has allowed me to develop specialized skills for working with children, people affected by developmental disabilities, clients who have a history of trauma, and individuals with various ethnic and cultural backgrounds. A large part of my work since 2008 has been supervision of other clinicians, including administrative and managerial responsibilities, as well as case consultation and supervision of social work state licensure candidates. My most recent endeavor is building a private practice to serve adolescents and adults in the lower valley area. Since 2018 I've been pleased to support several individuals experiencing effects of depression, anxiety and trauma. Additionally, I'm working toward becoming certified in EMDR, and hope to achieve this goal by summer 2021.
In my personal life I'm a mom to three busy kids, who keep my husband and I on the go. When at home, I enjoy hanging out with friends and family, reading a good book, sampling the wonderful local wine and beer of the Yakima Valley, and I love to travel and want to go "everywhere."
